Local businesses
Property, tourism, trade and company setup
Property is the most crowded online category in the emirate: brokers, developers, off-plan sales, holiday-let operators and the services around them. Competition for the few searches from ready buyers never lets up, and most of it is paid.
Hotels, tour operators, restaurants and events market to visitors planning from a dozen countries, and to residents deciding on the day.
Logistics, freight and trade services form a big B2B layer around the ports and free zones. Their buyers in procurement and operations search by service and route more than by brand.
Company setup, corporate structuring, accounting and advisory firms lead professional services, with much of their demand from new arrivals who need to set something up fast.
Clinics, gyms, schools, relocation firms and home services serve a young population that moves on often, so they keep replacing customers more than keeping them.
The market
A city of arrivals where brands are quickly forgotten
Dubai is built on movement of goods, money and people. Many of next year's customers are not in the country today, so demand has to be won again each year.
People forget brands quickly here, because much of the recognition a campaign built two or three years ago left with the people who held it. Repeating your message is upkeep, and a brand that goes quiet fades faster than in a settled city.
The mainland and free-zone split affects who a company may sell to and what it may offer. Marketing that promises more than the licence covers causes trouble at the point of sale. Check your position with a local lawyer before building a campaign around it.
Most Dubai businesses of any size sell beyond the UAE, using the emirate as a regional base. Search and content plans usually need to cover Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and beyond, which changes the language mix and site structure.
Many residents leave during the hottest months, and Ramadan changes working hours, browsing and buying. Both are known in advance, yet campaign plans copied from elsewhere often ignore them.
Brand memory in a city of arrivals
Demand starts over each year as people come and go
Many of next year's customers are not in the country today. And some of the recognition an old campaign built has left with the people who held it.
- 1Everyone who knew you two years ago — The recognition a campaign built then, measured on the day it ended instead of today.
- 2Those still in the country — People move through Dubai all the time, so part of that audience has left and taken the recognition with it.Awareness leaves with the people holding it
- 3Those who still remember — People forget quickly where relationships are new, so repeating your message here is upkeep.A quiet brand fades faster here
- 4Those you can reach this quarter — The summer exodus and Ramadan both change working hours and buying, and both are known months ahead.
- 5Those you may sell to — Your licence type affects who you may sell to, so check your position with a local lawyer first.

Who we can help most
Industries we help
- Real Estate & Property marketingReal estate marketing for agents, brokerages and property managers, built around how each one gets paid: once per sale, or every month.
- Hospitality & Food Service marketingHospitality marketing for restaurants, hotels and venues that fills the quiet nights and wins more bookings direct, not through commission apps.
- Ecommerce & DTC marketingFind the number holding your store back and fix it. Judge every channel on profit per order, not a revenue chart.
- Property Management marketingGet a steady flow of landlord enquiries at the moment they give up on their current manager. Then look after tenants well enough that the doors stay.
How people search
English for business, Arabic for family and home
How do people in Dubai look for a business like yours? The answer changes what we fix first.
- Most business and B2B searches in Dubai are in English, including from many Arabic speakers. Arabic rises sharply for consumer, family, health and government-related searches, so decide the language for each part of the site separately.
- Mobile use in Dubai is among the highest of any market we cover. A slow site on a mid-range phone loses sales.
- Instagram and TikTok lead discovery for consumer businesses, and many recommendations travel through private WhatsApp groups that analytics can't see, so reports undercount word of mouth.
- Someone who arrived last year has no long-standing provider and compares quickly. Being seen again and again matters more than one strong ad.
- Brand and place names get spelled many ways in Latin letters, and Gulf Arabic phrasing differs from formal Arabic. Pages built from a translated keyword list miss both.
The rules
What the law says about your ads
- Superlatives and comparisons in UAE advertising are treated as claims you must back up, so "the best in Dubai" should be proven or left out. Check the current rules with a local lawyer before running creative built on claims.
- Health, financial services, property, education and regulated goods need approval or a permit before marketing goes out. The approval normally belongs to a locally licensed company, so you hold it, and its timeline has to sit inside the content schedule.
- Paid endorsements and influencer work have their own licensing and disclosure rules. Check that a creator holds what is currently required before hiring them; the brand carries the risk too.
- Material touching religion, national symbols and leaders, alcohol, gambling or imagery norms should be reviewed locally. Creative copied unchanged from a campaign elsewhere is the most common failure in the region.
- Your data protection duties depend on where your company is registered, because free zones may run their own rules alongside the federal law. Find out which applies before designing consent on forms, tracking or a customer database. None of this is legal advice.

Working with us
Working with us online
We don't hold a UAE trade licence, so we agree at the start who does what. BOOSTD does the search work, content and listings, and plans the schedule around any approval your category needs.
We don't submit permit applications, hold approvals or represent your company to a regulator. Those stay with you or a licensed local partner.
Our hours overlap well with Dubai business hours. We plan around the summer departures and Ramadan, so a quiet month isn't mistaken for a failed campaign. BOOSTD works in English; Arabic pages need a native Arabic writer alongside us.
Questions
Common questions from Dubai businesses
The customer base keeps changing. What is worth investing in here?
Things that keep working for people who have not arrived yet. Content explaining how something works in Dubai, what it costs and what to watch out for reaches someone who landed six weeks ago with nobody local to ask.
Campaigns that assume people already know your name fade faster here, because some of the people who knew you have left.
Does our mainland or free-zone licence affect our marketing?
Yes. Your structure shapes who you may sell to and what you may offer, and campaigns are often written around services the licence doesn't cover.
We are not lawyers and this is not legal advice. We ask the question before we build anything, and if the answer is unclear, we ask you to confirm it with a local lawyer.
Should we run everything in Arabic, English, or both?
Decide by category, not for the whole company. In Dubai, English carries most professional and B2B searches, while Arabic carries much more weight for consumer, family and health searches.
Where Arabic is worth doing, it needs native research and native writing. Translated pages underperform because they don't match how people search.
Can we say we are the best in Dubai?
We wouldn't write it. Superlatives count as claims that need proof here, so the phrase creates a risk a specific claim avoids.
It is also weak positioning, because every competitor says it. A claim you can prove, such as a specialism, a method or a category you lead, is safer and more persuasive.
Agencies here say we need someone on the ground. Do we?
For some things, yes. A licensed local company, a regulatory approval, a permit or an in-person meeting needs a local partner, and we flag that before taking the job on.
For search, content, website builds and campaign management, being there in person makes little difference. Test whether we understand how this market behaves before you commit.
How much does social matter compared with search?
More than in most markets, especially for consumer businesses. People find businesses on Instagram and TikTok, and many recommendations pass through private messages no analytics tool can see.
Search is where an interested person checks that you exist and are worth taking seriously, and it keeps bringing in customers after the ad budget stops.
