Websites for funeral homes
Funeral home website design that helps families on the hardest day
Websites for funeral homes, cremation providers and cemeteries: obituaries families can share, service times and livestreams on every page, a price list one click from the homepage, and a calm path for the family who has to call tonight.
- Website from $150/month, yours after 12 payments
- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should a funeral home website include?
A funeral home website should let a family do three things quickly: reach a director any hour, find an obituary with its service times and livestream, and see your prices without filling in a form. It should also show your licence details where your regulator expects them and offer a quiet, separate path for planning ahead.
- Price
- $1,500 upfront, or $150/month × 12
- Ownership
- Yours after 12 payments
- Hosting and care
- $29 or $49/month
- Build time
- About 4 weeks for a local site

What every funeral home website includes
Obituaries families want to share
Each obituary has its photo, service times, livestream, directions and the family’s choice of flowers or donations, and shares cleanly to messages and social media. Memories and photos are held for staff to read before they appear.
The price list one click from home
A printable price list linked from the homepage with the word “price” in the link, and never behind a form. Several regulators require exactly this, and families comparing homes trust the one that shows it.
A first-call page for tonight
What to do when a death happens at home, in hospital or away, with a tap-to-call number and a call-back form that asks only three things. It is the page a family opens at two in the morning.
Planning ahead, kept separate
A gentle wishes questionnaire that saves and shares a plan for free. Paying in advance is a separate step with its own contract terms, so the person planning never feels sold to.
Livestreams that stay put
Each service’s livestream and recording sits on its obituary, not on a social account the family cannot find later, with a plain note on how to join from a phone.
Obituary notices by email
Visitors can sign up for new obituaries from their town, with consent asked for plainly and an unsubscribe in every email. It keeps the community coming back to your site, not a newspaper’s.
A page for each home and cemetery
Every location gets its own page with its address, chapel photos, phone number, licence line and price list, so a group of homes ranks in each town it serves.
Grief support and practical guides
Short guides on registering a death, choosing between burial and cremation, and what a celebration of life involves. They answer what families search for, and they are where your site earns its rankings.
Compliance
The rules for funeral homes, handled in the design
Funeral homes are among the few businesses told by law how their prices must appear online. These are the website rules we design around in Ontario, the US and the UK, each linked to the body that sets it.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your licensing body or your lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.
- Ontario
Licence number and type on the website
Under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, an operator that uses a website to promote or sell licensed services must show its licence number and a description of its licence type in a clearly visible place on that website. Every design carries both in the footer and on each location’s page.

A printable price list nobody has to hunt for
The same rules require a free, printable electronic price list in a clearly visible place, and the Registrar has said it must not be concealed or placed so that a family has to hunt for it. The price link sits in the main navigation of every design.

- Ontario
A link to the consumer guide
The BAO reminds licensees to link to its Consumer Information Guide from a clearly visible place, such as the homepage. The designs include it in the footer and on the price list page, beside your own explanations.

- California
Price information linked from the homepage
A licensed funeral establishment with a website must post the goods and services its general price list covers, with a note that the list is available on request, or put a link containing the word “price” on its homepage that leads to the list. The designs do the second.
- US
Prices given without a name
The FTC Funeral Rule requires accurate price answers to telephone enquiries, and a home may not insist on a caller’s name, address or number first. The website follows the same spirit: price questions can be sent with the name left blank, and nothing is hidden behind a lead form.
- US
Accurate words about embalming and caskets
The general price list must tell families they may choose only the goods and services they want, that embalming is not always required by law, and that alternative containers are available for direct cremation. Service pages are written so they never suggest otherwise.
- UK
The Standardised Price List, one click away
Funeral directors in the UK must publish a Standardised Price List online, as a document of that name, on a page no more than one click from the homepage, with the link clearly labelled. UK versions of the designs put it in the main navigation.
- UK
Pre-paid plans need an authorised provider
Since July 2022 pre-paid funeral plans in the UK are regulated by the FCA, and only authorised firms may sell them. A UK planning-ahead page names the authorised plan provider and links to its FCA register entry instead of selling a plan itself.

Questions
Funeral homes: common questions
- How much does a funeral home website cost?
- A funeral home website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Do I have to show my prices on my funeral home website?
- In some places, yes. Ontario requires a printable price list in a clearly visible place, California requires a price link on the homepage or the price-list items on the site, and the UK requires a Standardised Price List one click from the homepage. Elsewhere it is still the page families trust most.In the US the FTC Funeral Rule also requires prices to be given over the phone without asking for the caller’s name. Your licensing body has the final word on what applies to you.
- Can families leave condolences and photos on obituary pages?
- Yes. Visitors can leave a memory, a photo or a candle on each obituary, and every one is held for your staff to read before it appears, so nothing unkind or unrelated reaches the family. The family can be notified of new messages and download them all after the service.
- Can you move our existing obituaries to the new website?
- Yes, where your current provider lets the obituaries be exported or read from the old pages. They move with their photos and service details, and each old address redirects to the new page, so links families shared years ago still open the right notice.
- Can we livestream funeral services through the website?
- Yes. The stream from the camera service you use is embedded on the obituary, with the time, a note on joining from a phone and, if the family agrees, the recording kept there afterwards. Family abroad find it in the same place as the service details, not on a separate account.
- Will my funeral home website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- How long does a funeral home website take to build?
- About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. You review the price link, the first-call page and a sample obituary before launch, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
- Can I get one of these funeral home website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for funeral homes. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
