The short answer

What should a property management website have?

A property management website needs a rental analysis or management proposal request for owners, a listings page fed from your vacancies with an online application, and a portal for rent payments and maintenance requests. It should show your licence where required, describe homes rather than the tenants you want, and collect screening consent before any credit or background check.

Built in

What every property manager website includes

  • A rental analysis request for owners

Address, property type and current status, then a written analysis from a manager. It wins management contracts without publishing a rent estimate an owner will hold you to.

  • Listings fed from your management system

Vacancies, photos and availability pulled from your software, so a rented unit comes off the site the same day and applicants never chase a home that is gone.

  • An application that gets screening consent right

Published screening criteria, a clear authorisation step before any credit or background check, an adverse action notice prompt when an application is declined, and a place to request a reasonable accommodation at every step.

  • Rent payments kept out of your site’s scope

Payment pages hosted by a certified processor, and the page that embeds or links to them limited to approved scripts, which is what PCI DSS v4.0.1 and the eligibility rules for its shortest self-assessment look for.

  • Maintenance requests with photos and entry permission

A short form that sorts emergencies from routine work, takes photos and records permission to enter, and texts the resident when the trade is booked.

  • Board and owner records in one portal

Minutes, budgets, statements and notices for condo boards, HOAs and investment owners, with access set per building and per role.

How clients search

The searches and pages a property manager website needs

Owners and renters look for the same company in opposite moods. An owner with a first rental, or a landlord worn out by tenants, compares managers on a laptop, reads reviews closely and asks what management costs and includes. Renters search on a phone, often late in the evening, by neighbourhood, bedrooms, pets and move-in date, and apply on the spot. Condo and HOA boards ask other boards first, then check licences and sample reports online.

  • “property management companies near me”
  • “how much do property managers charge”
  • “pet friendly apartments for rent near me”
  • “condo management company”
  • “hoa management company near me”
  • “what does a property manager do”
  • “commercial property management services”
  • “property management for a single rental home”
  1. 01

    Owner services and fees

What management includes, what costs extra and how the fee is charged, mirrored from your management agreement. Owners compare companies on exactly this, and a plain page draws the owners who fit while answering the cost question people put to assistants.

  2. 02

    Listings from your feed

Available homes pulled from your management software, with photos, rent, availability, pet policy and accessibility features. Renters’ location searches land here, and the page stays accurate because nobody retypes a listing.

  3. 03

Screening criteria and how to apply

Income, rental history and screening steps published before anyone pays to apply, with consent, accommodation requests and what happens on a decline. Some states and cities require written criteria up front, and publishing them cuts applications that were never going to qualify.

  4. 04

    Resident centre

Pay rent, report a repair, read building notices and find the emergency line from one page residents bookmark. It cuts routine calls, and it answers residents who search the company’s name plus “pay rent” or “maintenance request”.

  5. 05

    Neighbourhood and building pages

A page for each area or building you manage, with available homes, amenities, transit and the local office. These answer place-based searches from renters and owners and give each location its own reason to appear.

  6. 06

    Board and association services

For condo and HOA managers, a page per duty a board relies on, such as budgets, reserve planning, records, meetings and collections, with the licence register link. Boards shortlist managers online and check credentials before they call.

  7. 07

    Trust money and reporting

How rent and deposits held for owners are kept in trust and what owners receive each month. Licensing rules in many places require client money in a trust account, so explaining it plainly is both reassuring and accurate.

SEO, AEO and GEO

How property managers get found in Google and in AI answers

  • Google Business Profile for each staffed office

Property management company is a Google category, and a staffed leasing office can have its own profile. Keep names, phones and hours identical to the site, reply to owner and renter reviews alike, and never ask only happy residents for a review.

  • Listings search engines can read

Each available home gets its own crawlable page with the area, rent, availability and accessibility in text, not only inside the management software’s embedded widget. That is what lets a listing show up for local rental searches.

  • Answers owners ask assistants

Owners ask AI assistants what a property manager costs, what is included and how to switch managers. A dated fees page and FAQ answers that open with the direct answer give AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity something accurate to quote.

  • Markup that fits the business

Organization or LocalBusiness markup for the company and each staffed office, Residence or Apartment details on listing pages, and consistent addresses throughout. No self-awarded review stars, and no occupancy or return claims the records cannot support.

Compliance

The rules for property managers, handled in the design

Property managers answer to fair housing and human rights law, licensing regulators and the rules on screening and payments. These are the rules that shape listings, applications, licence lines and rent payments, and what each design does about them.

Sources gathered October 6, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your broker of record, licensing regulator or counsel has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • US · Fair Housing Act §3604(c)

Listings that describe the home, not the tenant

Section 3604(c) and HUD’s rule at 24 CFR 100.75 bar rental ads, statements and images that indicate a preference or limitation based on a protected characteristic, and cover the choice of media too. Listing templates describe the property and its features, and carry the Equal Housing Opportunity line.

    eCFR — 24 CFR 100.75 Discriminatory advertisements

  • Ontario · Human Rights Code

    Rental ads without “professionals only”

The Ontario Human Rights Commission explains that rental ads must not exclude people on Code grounds, including family status and receipt of public assistance, and flags phrases like “working professionals only”. Ontario templates follow its fair rental ad guidance and use no US Equal Housing mark.

OHRC — Writing a fair rental housing ad

  • Ontario · CMRAO

    Condominium managers are licensed

Under the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015, people and businesses providing condominium management services in Ontario must be licensed by the CMRAO, and may offer services only in the name they are licensed under. Condo designs show the licensed provider name and each manager’s licence type.

    CMRAO — Licences

  • California · DRE

Managing rentals for others needs a broker licence

California’s Business and Professions Code §10131(b) treats leasing, soliciting tenants and collecting rents for others for compensation as broker activity, and many other states have similar rules. US designs carry the broker licence placeholder in the footer for states that ask for it.

California DRE — Reference book, agency chapter

  • US · FTC and FCRA

Tenant screening with consent and adverse action notices

The FTC’s guidance for landlords says a consumer report needs a permissible purpose, which a rental application normally supplies, and an applicant denied, asked for a co-signer or charged more because of one must get an adverse action notice. Written consent is good practice and some states require it, so the application asks for it and the workflow prompts the notice.

FTC — Using consumer reports: what landlords need to know

  • All · PCI DSS v4.0.1

Online rent payments and the payment page

PCI DSS v4.0.1 asks merchants to manage the scripts on payment pages (requirements 6.4.3 and 11.6.1, mandatory since 31 March 2025). Merchants using a fully outsourced page under SAQ A must instead confirm their site is not open to script attacks. Rent is paid on the processor’s hosted page, and the page around it runs only approved scripts.

    PCI SSC — Document library

  • British Columbia · BCFSA

Rental and strata management are licensed services

Under BC’s Real Estate Services Act, rental property management (finding tenants, collecting rent and deposits, managing for an owner) and strata management are licensed real estate services, each needing its own licence category through a licensed brokerage. BC designs carry the brokerage name and the licence types its managers hold.

Questions

Property managers: common questions

How much does a property management website cost?
A property management website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Can my property management website pull listings from our software automatically?
Usually yes. Most management systems publish vacancies through a feed or API, and the listings page reads from it, so photos, availability and rent come from the same record your team updates. A unit that is leased leaves the site with no manual step, and the apply button follows your software’s own application.
What should a rental listing avoid saying under fair housing rules?
A listing should describe the home, not the person you hope will rent it. “No children” or “ideal for a young couple” can signal a familial-status preference under US law, “professionals only” can exclude people on public assistance in Ontario, and many US states and cities bar “no vouchers”. Templates cover rooms, features, accessibility and policies instead.
Does an online rental application need special consent for screening?
It should ask for it. Under the US FCRA a rental application usually gives the permissible purpose, but written consent is good practice, some states require it and Canadian privacy law expects consent to a credit check. An applicant denied or charged more because of a report must get an adverse action notice. The application asks for consent on its own step.
Do condo managers in Ontario need to show their licence on the website?
Condo managers and management firms in Ontario must be licensed by the CMRAO and can offer services only in their licensed name, which boards can check on the public register. The condo designs show the licensed provider name and each manager’s licence type, so a board can verify them before calling.
How do property management companies win new owners online?
Owners usually start by searching for managers in their city, then compare fee pages, services and reviews. A site that answers what management costs and includes, offers a free rental analysis and has a page for each area served turns that research into owner enquiries, while listings and the resident portal keep renter traffic from crowding out owner calls.
Will my property manager website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
Can I get one of these property management website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for property managers. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
