The short answer

What should a golf course website include?

A golf course website should let a visiting golfer book a tee time quickly at the full price, including any booking or cart fee, and let a prospective member see categories, joining terms and how to apply. It also needs event pages for tournaments and weddings, a gift card shop with its terms, and course conditions that stay current.

Built in

What every golf course website includes

  • Tee times at the price they pay

A booking bar for date, players and holes returns open times with the green fee, cart and booking fees combined into one price. Where rates move with demand, the page explains when and shows the price before the golfer commits.

  • Membership that respects the club

Categories, who each suits and the joining process set out with the club’s tone, and a finder that shows the joining fee, dues, minimums and assessments for the category chosen. A visit request goes to the membership secretary, not a generic inbox.

  • Course pages, hole by hole

Each hole gets its yardages, a short description and a drawing or flyover, and conditions such as cart rules and closures update from one place. Golfers deciding on an unfamiliar course read these before they book.

  • Gift cards with their terms in view

Gift cards and lesson packages sold online, delivered by email or post, with expiry and redemption terms beside the buy button and a balance check that needs no phone call. The terms change by province and state, so each version is set for where the club sells.

  • Tournaments and outings

Event pages for charity days, corporate outings and member competitions, with team registration, sponsorship levels and all-in prices, and enquiries routed to the events manager with the date and group size.

  • Weddings and banquets

A separate path for couples and event planners, with the clubhouse spaces, packages priced in full and a date-check form. Bar service is described within the club’s liquor licence and the local advertising standards.

  • A member area or app

Members sign in for the tee sheet, competitions, guest bookings and statements. It sends to any tee-sheet or club management system that accepts data by email, webhook or API; a direct connection is scoped with an advisor and quoted.

Compliance

The rules for golf courses and clubs, handled in the design

Golf courses sell tee times, gift cards, memberships and events online, and each one is touched by consumer, liquor or accessibility rules. These are the ones we design around in Canada, the US and the UK, each linked to the body that sets it.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your provincial or state consumer office, your liquor regulator or your lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • Ontario

    Gift cards without expiry dates

Ontario’s gift card rules bar a supplier from putting an expiry date on a gift card agreement and restrict fees, but cards that cover only one specific good or service are exempt. Gift card pages in Ontario versions state that cards do not expire, and any card for a single named round is labelled as such.

Ontario — O. Reg. 17/05 under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (gift cards)

  • US

Gift cards valid for at least five years

Under the federal CARD Act rules in Regulation E, the funds on a store gift card cannot expire sooner than five years after it was issued or last loaded, expiry and any fees must be disclosed clearly, and inactivity fees are only allowed after a year without use. US gift card pages show these terms beside the buy button, and state laws that protect buyers further still apply.

    CFPB — Regulation E, 12 CFR 1005.20 (gift cards)

  • California

Gift certificates that do not expire

California’s Civil Code makes it unlawful to sell a gift certificate with an expiry date or a service fee, including a dormancy fee, apart from narrow exceptions such as free promotional cards, and a small remaining balance is redeemable in cash. California versions say “no expiry” on the shop page and explain how a low balance can be cashed out.

    California Civil Code §1749.5

  • Canada

Green fees shown with mandatory charges included

Since 2022 the Competition Act treats a price as misleading when fixed, obligatory charges other than taxes are added on top of it later. If a booking fee or a required cart fee applies to a tee time, the price on the website includes it from the first screen.

    Competition Act (Canada), section 74.01

  • UK

Upfront prices for tee times and packages

The CMA’s price transparency guidance, under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, requires mandatory fees to be included in the headline price rather than added during booking. UK versions show green fees, buggy hire where compulsory, and stay-and-play packages at their full price.

CMA — Price transparency guidance (CMA209)

  • Ontario

Clubhouse liquor promotions within the rules

The AGCO’s Registrar’s standards say licensees may not advertise in a way that promotes immoderate drinking or appeals to people under the legal drinking age, and may not associate liquor with driving or other activities needing care and skill. Bar and patio pages describe what is served without drinking challenges, and never pair drinks with carts.

AGCO — Registrar’s Interim Standards and Requirements for Liquor: 2. Advertising and Promotions

  • Ontario

    Accessible websites under AODA

A course or club in Ontario with 50 or more staff, seasonal staff included, falls under the Integrated Accessibility Standards: its public website must reach WCAG 2.0 Level AA (two video items, live captioning and recorded audio description, are exempt). The designs are built to that level, with booking widgets that work by keyboard and screen reader.

Ontario — O. Reg. 191/11, Integrated Accessibility Standards

  • US

Online booking that works for disabled golfers

In its ADA web guidance the Department of Justice tells businesses that serve the public, golf facilities included, that their online services have to be usable by people with disabilities. Tee-time booking, event registration and gift card checkout are built to WCAG, and course pages describe accessible carts and facilities.

Questions

Golf courses and clubs: common questions

How much does a golf course website cost?
A golf course website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Can the website book tee times through our existing tee-sheet system?
Usually, yes. Most tee-sheet systems offer a booking widget or link that we style to match the site, or bookings can be sent to any system that accepts them by email, webhook or API. A deeper connection to your tee sheet or club management software is scoped with an advisor and quoted before work starts.
Do tee-time prices on a golf website have to include booking fees?
In Canada and the UK, a fixed fee every golfer must pay belongs in the price shown, not added at checkout, and US rules on misleading pricing point the same way. The designs show the green fee with any booking or mandatory cart fee already included, and explain when twilight or busy-time rates apply.
Can a private golf club website sell memberships without looking like a sales page?
Yes. A private club’s site leads with the club, its course and its people, and keeps membership as a quiet path: categories, what each includes, the joining process and a visit request to the membership secretary. Fees and terms are shared in writing, or on a members-only page if the board prefers.
Can we sell golf gift cards on the website?
Yes. Gift cards can be bought for any amount or for a set round or lesson, delivered by email or post, with the terms beside the button and an online balance check. Expiry rules differ: Ontario and California generally ban expiry dates, and US federal rules require at least five years, so each version is set for where you sell.
Will my golf course website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
How long does a golf course website take to build?
About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. We aim to launch before your season opens, and you book a test tee time and buy a test gift card before anything goes live.
Can I get one of these golf course website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for golf courses and clubs. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
