Websites for equipment rental
Equipment rental website design that shows what is free and books it
Websites for equipment rental companies: live availability by date and branch, online reservations with delivery, all-in rates that include every mandatory charge, damage waivers explained before checkout, operator training for lifts and machines, and a customer portal for calling equipment off rent.
- Website from $150/month, yours after 12 payments
- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should an equipment rental website include?
An equipment rental website should let a renter pick a machine, choose dates and a branch or delivery address, see whether it is available and what it costs with every mandatory charge included, and reserve it. It should explain the damage waiver before checkout, point lift and machine renters to operator training, and let account customers call equipment off rent online.

What every equipment rental company website includes
Availability by date and branch
Renters choose a machine, dates and a branch or site address and see whether it is free before they call. Where your rental software can share availability, the site reads it; where it cannot, the booking becomes a request your counter confirms.
All-in rates on every listing
Day, week and four-week rates are shown with every mandatory charge already included, and optional extras listed separately. Several jurisdictions now treat a rate that leaves out required fees as misleading, and renters stop abandoning checkout when the number does not jump.
The damage waiver, explained before checkout
A plain page on what the waiver covers, what it excludes and whether it can be declined with proof of insurance, linked from every rate. Renters understand the charge before they meet it on the agreement.
Operator training next to the machine
Lift, telehandler and loader listings link to the training their operators need and to your courses, if you run them. The listing never suggests a machine can be run without the employer’s training.
Delivery zones and site drop-offs
Delivery charges shown by zone or distance before booking, with drop and pickup windows and site instructions captured on the order. Drivers arrive knowing the gate code and where to park the lowbed.
A customer portal for contractor accounts
Everything on rent by job site, one-tap off-rent calls, delivery tracking and invoices by purchase order. It saves the office the daily phone round of what is still out.
Bookings into your rental software
Every reservation, quote and off-rent call lands in your inbox or business software through email, a webhook or an API. Linking straight into your rental management or telematics platform is a separate, quoted piece of work planned with an advisor.
Compliance
The rules for equipment rental, handled in the design
Rental rates are one of the first places hidden-fee laws bite, and lifts come with training duties renters often do not know about. These are the pricing and operator-training rules the designs are built around, each linked to the body that sets it.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer, insurer or safety regulator has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.
- Canada
Advertised rates must include fixed mandatory fees
Under the 2022 drip-pricing amendment to the Competition Act, a day or week rate is misleading if the renter can only get it by paying compulsory charges on top, government taxes aside. Rates on the site include environmental, admin and similar required fees, with only taxes and genuinely optional items shown separately.
Competition Bureau Canada — Guide to the 2022 amendments to the Competition Act
- California
Listed prices must include all mandatory fees
Since 1 July 2024, California’s honest pricing law bars showing a rental rate that omits charges the renter has to pay anyway; only government taxes and shipping may be added later. Rates shown to California renters include every required charge; an optional damage waiver is shown as a separate choice.
- UK
Total price up front, including unavoidable fees
The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 bans drip pricing in consumer invitations to purchase, so an advert or listing that invites a customer to hire must show a total price that includes any mandatory fees and charges. UK versions of the designs show the full hire price on listings and in adverts, with optional cover listed apart.
- US
Aerial lift operators are trained by their employer
OSHA requires that only trained persons operate aerial lifts, and its interpretations place the training duty on the employer of the operator, not on the rental company. Lift listings say so plainly, link to training, and never imply that renting a lift qualifies someone to operate it.
OSHA — Standard interpretation: aerial lifts and scissor lifts, fall protection, training and design
- Ontario
Elevating work platform training before first use
Ontario’s construction projects regulation requires a worker to receive oral and written instruction, including the manufacturer’s instructions, load limits, controls and suitable surfaces, before first operating an elevating work platform. Ontario lift listings link the model’s manual and list training as a prerequisite, not an upsell.

Questions
Equipment rental: common questions
- How much does an equipment rental website cost?
- An equipment rental website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Can customers check availability and reserve equipment online?
- Yes. A renter picks the machine, dates and a branch or delivery address and sees whether it is free, then reserves it with a deposit if you take one. Where your rental software shares availability, the site reads it directly; otherwise the booking arrives as a request your counter confirms within the hours you set.
- How should an equipment rental website show fees and the damage waiver?
- Show every mandatory fee inside the advertised rate and list genuinely optional items, such as a waiver the renter can decline with proof of insurance, separately with a plain explanation. Canada, California and the UK all treat prices that leave out required fees as misleading, so the rate on the listing should match the agreement.Whether your waiver is optional, and how it must be described, depends on your province or state; your lawyer has the final word on the wording.
- Can the website connect to our rental management software?
- Reservations, quotes and off-rent calls can be sent to any system that accepts them by email, webhook or API. A live connection that reads availability and rates from your rental management or telematics software is scoped with an advisor and quoted, because each package exposes different data.
- Can we sell operator training through the rental website?
- Yes. Courses can be listed by date with seats and booking, and each lift or machine listing can link to the course for it. The pages say plainly that the employer remains responsible for training and authorising its operators, so a renter never reads a course or a rental as permission to operate.
- Will my equipment rental company website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- How long does an equipment rental website take to build?
- About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts.Your fleet list and full fee schedule are the inputs that decide the timeline, because every rate on the site is built from them.
- Can I get one of these equipment rental website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for equipment rental. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
