The short answer

What should a remodeling contractor website include?

A remodeling website needs before-and-after projects organised by room, a planner or quote form that collects the room, scope, timing and photos, a clear description of your design and build process, and a way to book a consultation. It should show licences and lead-safe certification where they apply and describe deposits and financing the way your contract law allows.

Built in

What every remodeling contractor website includes

  • Before-and-after pairs that load fast

Each project gets a draggable before-and-after view and a short caption on scope, sized for phones, because homeowners decide whether to call by flicking through finished kitchens and bathrooms.

  • A planner instead of a contact form

The renovation planner asks room, scope, timing and budget range one question at a time, attaches photos, and lands in your inbox or CRM as a complete brief for the designer.

  • Consultation booking for showroom or home

Homeowners choose a showroom or in-home consultation and a preferred time, and your team confirms it, which removes the phone tag that loses so many renovation leads.

  • Budget guidance without invented prices

Pages explain what drives the cost of a kitchen, a bathroom or a basement in your area and ask for a range, without publishing “from” prices you have not set or a figure that turns out to exclude installation.

  • Lead-safe pages for older homes

If your firm is certified, service pages for pre-1978 homes show it and explain the work practices; if not, the site does not offer those renovations in older homes.

  • Project pages that feed local search

Every finished renovation can become a page with the neighbourhood, scope and photos, which gives each area page real local proof and keeps your portfolio growing without stock images.

Found locally

How remodelers get found in the areas they serve

Google runs the Business Profile and Local Services Ads programmes and decides who qualifies. We build the site and the area pages to Google’s rules and keep your profile accurate. Badges such as Google Verified (which replaced Google Guaranteed and Google Screened in 2025) are Google’s to grant, not ours.

  1. 01

    Google Business Profile

Primary category “Remodeler”, with “Kitchen remodeler” or “Bathroom remodeler” added only if that is real work, a staffed showroom shown as a location, and finished-project photos added as each renovation wraps.

  2. 02

    Local Services Ads

Where Google offers Local Services Ads for remodeling in your market, Google runs its own licence and insurance checks and may show its Google Verified badge. You apply to Google; your project pages are what those prospects check next.

  3. 03

    Neighbourhood pages, not doorway pages

Pages for nearby towns only help when they carry projects done there and local housing detail, such as the era of homes and common layout problems. Copies with a new name are what Google calls doorway abuse.

  4. 04

    Track consultations, not just clicks

Renovation leads take weeks to close, so planner submissions and booked consultations are tracked by source, showing which pages and campaigns lead to signed proposals, not just visits.

Compliance

The rules for remodelers, handled in the design

Renovation work touches older homes, deposits and financing, and each brings its own rules: lead-safe certification for pre-1978 houses, caps on what a contract may ask up front, and disclosures that follow any payment figure in an ad. The remodeling concepts are designed around them.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your state or provincial contractor regulator, the EPA or your state lead programme, or your lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • US

    Lead-safe certification for older homes

The EPA’s renovation rule says no firm may perform, offer or claim to perform covered renovations in pre-1978 housing without certification, and owners get the Renovate Right pamphlet before work. Certified firms show it on older-home pages; uncertified firms do not advertise that work.

EPA — 40 CFR 745.81, lead renovation rule (eCFR)

  • California

Down payment caps and the right to cancel

California home improvement contracts limit the down payment to 1,000 dollars or a tenth of the price, whichever is less, and give three business days to cancel, five for buyers 65 or older. Booking and process pages never ask for a large deposit to hold a start date.

CSLB — What seniors should know about home improvement

  • Maryland

MHIC number and complete price teasers

Maryland’s home improvement commission says every ad must carry the contractor’s name and MHIC licence number, and an advertised price that leaves out installation or parts needed for a working result must say so clearly. The site avoids “from” prices unless the exclusions sit right beside them.

  • Alberta

    Prepaid contracting licence for deposits

Alberta says a renovator who takes any payment before the work is finished needs a prepaid contracting licence from Service Alberta, uses written contracts for prepaid work and gives a 10-day cancellation period. Alberta sites show the licence where held and explain the deposit terms.

  • US

Renovation financing ads and Regulation Z

When a credit ad states a payment amount, a number of payments, a down payment or a finance charge, Regulation Z requires the down payment, repayment terms and APR to be stated too. Renovation pages name financing as available through a lender, subject to approval, and quote no example payment.

    US — Regulation Z, 12 CFR 1026.24 (eCFR)

  • US

Financed renovations keep the buyer’s claims

The FTC’s Holder Rule puts a notice into consumer credit contracts arranged by a seller so the homeowner keeps their claims and defences against whoever holds the loan. The financing page never suggests the lender is not answerable for complaints about the work.

Questions

Remodelers: common questions

How much does a remodeling website cost?
A remodeling website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.Design and project-management software you connect is billed by its own provider.
Should a remodeler publish prices on the website?
Explain what drives the cost and ask for a budget range, rather than publishing “from” prices you have not set. Maryland, for one, expects advertised prices that leave out installation or required parts to say so clearly. A photo quote or planner gives homeowners a range quickly without inventing a number.
Do I need lead-safe certification to advertise renovations in older homes?
For pay-for renovations that disturb paint in homes built before 1978, the EPA says no firm may perform, offer or claim to perform them without certification. If you are certified, we show it on older-home pages and explain the work practices; if not, the site does not offer that work.
Can homeowners book a design consultation from the website?
Yes. The planner or booking card asks for the room, a showroom or in-home visit and a preferred time, then your team confirms by email or text with consent. The designer receives the homeowner’s answers and photos beforehand, so the first meeting starts with the project rather than the basics.
How should a renovation website talk about financing and deposits?
Say financing is available through a lender, subject to approval, with terms in writing, and leave sample payments to the lender, because a payment figure triggers Regulation Z disclosures. For deposits, follow your contract law: California caps them on home improvement contracts and Alberta licenses renovators who take payment in advance.
What if my before-and-after photos are not professional?
Phone photos taken from the same spot before and after work well, and we crop, straighten and colour-correct them consistently. A short guide for your crew on where to stand and when to shoot means every new project arrives ready for the gallery, with the owner’s permission recorded.
Will my remodeling contractor website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
How long does a remodeling website take to build?
About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts.Galleries can launch with your strongest projects and grow as you send more.
Can I get one of these remodeling website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for remodelers. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
