Websites for pet services

Pet services website design that fills kennels, classes and tables

Website design for dog daycares, boarding kennels, groomers, trainers and pet sitters, with an owner booking app where it fits: online booking that starts with the pet, vaccination records collected before the first visit, your licence line where the law asks for it, and honest pages about who trains and handles each animal.

The short answer

What should a pet services website include?

A pet services website should let an owner book a stay, a groom or a class for a named pet in a few taps, upload its vaccination record before arrival, and see what each service includes and costs. It should show your licence details where your council or state expects them and describe trainer credentials accurately.

Built in

What every pet services business website includes

  • Booking that starts with the pet

Owners add a named pet with breed, size, age and needs, then pick a service and time, so every request already says which room, groomer or class fits. Repeat customers rebook the same dog in two taps.

  • Vaccination records before arrival

Owners upload the record at booking, staff mark it checked, and the site reminds the owner before it expires. Nobody finds out at the front desk on a holiday morning that the kennel cough jab lapsed.

  • Licence line where the law asks

Licensed boarding, daycare and breeding businesses in England show the licence holder and number on their website, and some states license groomers and trainers too. The footer and contact page carry the line in the wording your licence uses.

  • Trainer pages that say who assessed whom

Each trainer profile lists their methods, their courses and every credential with the organisation that issued it. It is more convincing than a bare “certified”, and it keeps your claims checkable.

  • Daycare assessments and pass packs

A new dog books an assessment first, and only an approved dog can buy passes or packs. Owners see their remaining days and book them without phoning.

  • Photo updates and report cards

Handlers post a photo and a short note against each booking, and the owner gets it by email or in the owner portal. It is the feature owners mention most when they recommend a daycare to friends.

  • Service-area pages for walkers and sitters

Each neighbourhood gets its own page with walk days, group sizes and visit times, so a walker ranks in the streets they cover. Requests from outside the area are told so politely before anyone travels.

  • Reviews collected fairly

After a stay or groom, every customer gets the same request to leave a review, whether the visit went well or not. Nothing is filtered, paid for or written by staff, which is what the review rules require.

Compliance

The rules for pet services, handled in the design

Pet businesses are licensed differently in every country, state and council, and some licences come with website duties. These are the rules we design around in England, the US and Canada, each linked to the body that sets it.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your licensing council, state agency or lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • England

Licence holder and number on the website

Businesses licensed for dog boarding (kennels, home boarding or day care), cat boarding, dog breeding or selling animals as pets must show the licence holder’s name followed by the licence number clearly and prominently on any website used for that activity. The designs put both in the footer and on the contact page.

Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018, Schedule 2

  • England

    Vaccinations checked before boarding

Defra’s statutory guidance for licensed dog day care says an up-to-date vaccination record must be seen for every dog, with any primary course finished at least two weeks before it is accepted; the boarding guidance sets its own conditions. Booking asks for the record at the second step and holds the request until staff have checked it.

  • Colorado

PACFA licences for groomers, kennels and trainers

Colorado’s Pet Animal Care Facilities Act licenses a wide range of pet businesses, including groomers, boarding kennels and trainers, with a separate licence for each physical facility. Colorado versions of the designs show each location’s licence line on its own page.

  • US

    Training claims need evidence

Under the FTC Act, objective advertising claims must be truthful and backed by evidence before they are made. Trainer pages describe methods and credentials with their issuing organisation, and never promise that a dog will be fixed in a set number of sessions.

FTC — Advertising FAQs: a guide for small business

  • US

No fake, bought or filtered reviews

The FTC’s rule on consumer reviews, in force since October 2024, bars fake reviews, buying reviews conditioned on their sentiment, undisclosed insider reviews and certain review suppression. Review requests go to every customer alike, and the site never invents or edits a review.

FTC — Trade Regulation Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 CFR Part 465)

  • Canada

Testimonials and claims must not mislead

The Competition Act treats a representation to the public that is false or misleading in a material respect as reviewable conduct, and separately covers publishing a testimonial that its giver did not make or approve in writing, or that has been changed. Canadian versions quote only real customers who agreed, and describe services and credentials as they are.

Questions

Pet services: common questions

How much does a pet services website cost?
A pet services website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Do I have to show my licence number on my kennel or daycare website?
In England, yes, if you are licensed for dog or cat boarding, home boarding, day care, dog breeding or selling pets: the licence holder’s name and licence number must be clear and prominent on your website. Some US states, such as Colorado, license groomers, kennels and trainers, and their rules may add duties of their own.Your council or state licensing office has the final word on the wording, and the site puts it wherever they ask.
Can customers upload vaccination records when they book?
Yes. The booking form asks for the record as its second step, staff mark each one checked, and the request is only confirmed once it passes. The site stores the expiry date and emails the owner before it runs out, so a holiday stay is not refused on the morning of drop-off.
Can the website connect to my booking or kennel software?
Bookings can go to any system that accepts them by email, webhook or API, and many pet care platforms offer one of those. A direct two-way connection to your kennel, grooming or daycare software is scoped with an advisor and quoted before work starts, so you know what will sync and what will not.
Can I call myself a certified dog trainer on my website?
You can describe a credential you genuinely hold, naming the organisation that issued it and what it assessed. In most places those credentials come from private bodies rather than a government licence, so the trainer pages say who issued each one instead of a bare “certified”, and never promise a guaranteed result.
Can you build a booking app for my dog daycare or kennel?
Yes, where the business is busy enough to need one. An owner app keeps pet profiles, vaccination expiry reminders, pass balances, bookings and daily report cards in one account, and staff use the same records from a tablet on the floor. It is planned with an advisor and quoted separately from the website.
Will my pet services business website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
How long does a pet services website take to build?
About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. Before launch you book a test pet, upload a sample record and check the licence line on your phone.
Can I get one of these pet services website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for pet services. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
