Websites for marinas and boat dealers
Marina website design that fills slips and books sea trials
Websites for marinas, boat dealers, rental fleets and boatyards: slip availability by length and beam, launch and haul-out dates boaters can book, rentals with the safety step built in, and boats for sale listed with the details buyers check first.

The short answer
What should a marina website include?
A marina website should show which slips and storage spaces suit a boat of a given length and beam, let boaters request a season or book launch and haul-out dates, and list fuel dock hours, depth and services. Dealers and rental fleets need searchable boats, all-in prices and the safety or competency step renters must complete.

What every marina website includes
Slips matched to the boat
Every slip request asks for length overall, beam and draft, and the site offers only docks that fit, with depth and shore power shown. The office receives a request it can answer without calling back for the boat’s size.
Launch and haul-out dates boaters can book
Travel lift, ramp and dry-stack slots open by week, so spring and fall fill in an order the yard controls. Each booking carries the jobs that must finish before the boat goes in or comes out.
Boat listings buyers trust
New and used boats listed with the hull identification number, engine hours, trailer, service history and known faults. A buyer who has already checked those details books a sea trial instead of a phone call.
Rentals with the safety step built in
Rental bookings collect the operator’s card details or flag that the dock checklist is needed, and the briefing time is part of the booking. Renters arrive expecting it, and the dock staff stay on schedule.
All-in prices for slips and boats
Slip rates, rental prices and boat prices are shown with every mandatory fee included, such as freight, preparation or environmental charges, with taxes and optional extras set out separately. Drip pricing is now unlawful in several markets.
A harbour status board
Fuel dock hours, transient slips left, entrance depth and pump-out status updated by the dock office from a phone. Boaters stop calling the radio channel for answers the board already gives.
Storage quotes without the phone tag
Winter storage and service quotes start with a short form that asks for everything the yard needs: size, engine, location and indoor or outdoor. Returning customers renew last year’s spot in one step.
Compliance
The rules for marinas and boat dealers, handled in the design
Boating has its own rules about who may take a rental out, how a boat is identified and how prices are advertised. These are the ones we design around in Canada, the US and the UK, each linked to the statute or regulation that sets it.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so Transport Canada, the Coast Guard, your state boating agency or your lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.
- Canada
Renters need proof of competency or the rental checklist
Under the Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations, operators of motorized pleasure craft need proof of competency, such as a Pleasure Craft Operator Card, and a rental boat safety checklist, completed, signed by the renter and the rental agent and carried on board, serves as proof for the rental period. Rental bookings ask for the card or schedule the checklist briefing.

Advertised prices include mandatory fees
Since June 2022 the Competition Act deems a price representation false or misleading when the price cannot be attained because of fixed obligatory charges or fees, other than amounts imposed by law such as taxes. Boat, rental and slip prices are shown with freight, preparation and other mandatory charges included.
- US
Hull identification numbers on every boat
Coast Guard regulations require manufacturers and importers to mark each boat with primary and secondary hull identification numbers of twelve characters in a set format. The law does not require it online, but dealer and broker listings give it, so buyers can check history and registration before travelling.

Livery rentals: instruction and boater education
Florida liveries need a no-cost permit from the state wildlife commission, and for vessels with a motor of 10 horsepower or more they must give pre-rental instruction and may not rent to anyone the boater education law covers unless that person shows photo identification and a boating safety identification card. Florida rental pages state the card requirement and book the briefing with the rental.
- UK
New craft sold with conformity marking
The Recreational Craft Regulations 2017 require most new recreational craft placed on the market to have passed a conformity assessment and to carry the conformity marking, a builder’s plate and an owner’s manual. Dealer listings for new boats state the design category and conformity status.

Total price, not a partial one
Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, the total price, with every mandatory fee and charge, is material information in an invitation to purchase, and omitting it can be an unfair commercial practice. UK berth, storage and rental prices show the full amount a customer must pay, with optional extras listed separately.

Questions
Marinas and boat dealers: common questions
- How much does a marina website cost?
- A marina website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Can boaters reserve slips on our marina website?
- Yes. Transient nights can be booked and paid online, and seasonal slips start with a request that captures length, beam, draft and power needs, so the office offers a slip that fits. If you already use marina management software, requests can be sent to it by email, webhook or API, scoped and quoted with an advisor.
- Can a boat dealer website list our inventory automatically?
- Yes, where your dealer system or marketplace account can export a feed. Each boat arrives with its photos, hull number, engine hours and price, and sold boats drop off on their own. Without a feed, your staff add and mark boats sold from a phone in a minute each.
- How do boat rental websites handle the safety checklist and operator card?
- The booking asks whether the renter holds a boating card and records its details, or schedules the dock safety checklist and briefing as part of the rental time. In Canada a completed rental checklist serves as proof of competency for the rental; in Florida the livery rules set their own conditions.Transport Canada or your state boating agency should confirm what applies on your waters.
- Do we need a marina app as well as a website?
- Not at first. The website handles slip requests, launch dates and payments. A member app pays off for marinas with many seasonal slip holders or a dry-stack operation, where launch requests, pump-out bookings and dock notices from a phone save the office real time, and it is quoted separately.
- Will my marina website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- How long does a marina website take to build?
- About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. We plan to go live before slip renewals and spring launch bookings open, with slip requests and launch dates tested first.
- Can I get one of these marina website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for marinas and boat dealers. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
