Websites for ecommerce and shopify stores
Shopify website design for stores that want the second order too
Shopify and ecommerce websites built to sell: fast product pages, a checkout with no surprise fees, ship-by dates you can keep, subscriptions customers can cancel online, and reviews that are real.
- Website from $150/month, yours after 12 payments
- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should an ecommerce website include?
An ecommerce website needs fast product pages with clear photos, variants and stock, the full price including fees shown before checkout, and a shipping promise you can keep. Add plain returns and cancellation terms, subscriptions that can be cancelled online, only genuine reviews, and accessible checkout, so the store converts and stays on the right side of consumer law.

Built in
What every ecommerce store website includes
A Shopify build or a headless storefront
A custom Shopify theme for most brands, or a headless Next.js storefront on the Shopify Storefront API where speed or content needs it. We also connect WooCommerce or BigCommerce where their access allows.
Product pages that answer the last question
Variant photos, size and fit data, materials, care, ingredients or allergens, stock status and the ship-by date, laid out so a shopper never has to email before buying.
All-in pricing before the checkout
Mandatory fees are included in the advertised price and taxes and shipping are estimated in the cart, so the total a buyer sees on the product page is not quietly higher at payment.
Subscriptions people can leave
Subscription plans through Recharge, Skio or Shopify Subscriptions where their access allows, with renewal terms before signup, a reminder before billing and online cancellation as easy as subscribing.
Shipping promises you can keep
Ship-by dates calculated from stock and your fulfilment cut-off, plus automatic delay emails with a refund option, so a backorder becomes a message instead of a chargeback.
Reviews that are verifiable
Reviews collected only from buyers after delivery, negative ones published too, incentives disclosed, and no imported or AI-written testimonials, using Judge.me, Okendo or Yotpo where your plan allows.
Collection pages that rank without bloat
Category copy written for real searches, filters that do not spawn thousands of indexable URLs, product structured data and a clean feed for Google Merchant Center and shopping listings.
Accessible checkout and account
Keyboard and screen-reader friendly cart, variant pickers and forms, colour contrast checked, and error messages in words, built to WCAG 2.2 AA so every buyer can finish an order.
Compliance
The rules for ecommerce and shopify stores, handled in the design
Online stores are judged on shipping promises, prices, reviews and cancellations, and regulators in each market you sell to have rules on all four. Each rule links to its source.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer or consumer protection office has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

Shipping times under the Mail Order Rule
The FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule expects sellers to have a reasonable basis for any shipping time they state, or ship within 30 days if none is stated, and to offer delay notices with a cancel-and-refund option. Ship-by dates come from stock and cut-offs, and delay emails are built in.
FTC — Business guide to the Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 CFR Part 435)

Internet agreements with Ontario consumers
Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002 sets disclosure rules for internet agreements: before the order, the seller’s identity, a description, the total price with delivery charges, delivery and cancellation terms, then a copy of the agreement afterwards. The Consumer Protection Act, 2023 will replace it on a date not yet proclaimed. Checkout shows those details and the confirmation email carries them.

Fake and incentivized reviews
Since October 2024 the FTC’s consumer review and testimonial rule has prohibited fake or AI-fabricated reviews, buying reviews conditioned on sentiment, undisclosed insider reviews and suppressing negative reviews. The review module only accepts verified buyers and publishes critical reviews.

Subscriptions and online cancellation
The FTC’s 2024 click-to-cancel amendments were vacated by a federal appeals court in July 2025, but ROSCA still requires clear terms, express consent before billing and a simple way to stop recurring charges online, and several states have their own auto-renewal laws. Subscriptions are built to that standard.
- Canada
Drip pricing
Under the Competition Act, advertising a price that cannot be attained because mandatory fees are added later is treated as false or misleading, unless the extra charges are government-imposed such as sales tax. Product prices include every mandatory fee.
- EU/UK
Selling to EU consumers: the Accessibility Act
The European Accessibility Act applies accessibility requirements to ecommerce services sold to consumers in the EU from 28 June 2025, with an exemption for microenterprises providing services. Stores that ship to the EU get WCAG-based checkout and an accessibility statement.

Questions
Ecommerce and Shopify stores: common questions
- How much does an ecommerce website cost?
- An ecommerce website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Do you build on Shopify or custom?
- Usually Shopify, with a custom theme built for your catalogue rather than a lightly edited stock theme. Where speed or content needs it we build a headless Next.js storefront on the Shopify Storefront API. We also work with WooCommerce or BigCommerce where their access allows. Large catalogues and multi-store setups are quoted after a call.
- Will moving my store to a new design lose my Google rankings?
- Not if the migration is planned. Every old product, collection and blog URL is mapped to its new address with a permanent redirect, structured data and the Merchant Center feed are checked before launch, and Search Console is watched for errors afterwards. Rankings can move briefly during any migration, which is why we track them weekly.
- How should subscriptions and cancellations work on my store?
- Show the price, frequency and renewal terms before signup, get clear consent to recurring charges, remind customers before billing where required, and let them cancel online as easily as they subscribed. The FTC’s 2024 click-to-cancel amendments were vacated in 2025, but ROSCA and several state auto-renewal laws still apply.
- Can I show product reviews on my ecommerce site?
- Yes, if they are genuine. Under the FTC’s consumer review rule, fake or AI-written reviews, reviews paid for with a positive sentiment as the condition, undisclosed insider reviews and hiding negative ones are all prohibited. Reviews are collected only from verified buyers after delivery and published whether good or bad, through Judge.me, Okendo or Yotpo where your plan allows.
- Can I ask for an app, SEO or marketing for my store too?
- Yes. Tick website, app, SEO or marketing on the request form, alone or together, and one person scopes the whole job. Brands with frequent repeat buyers often add a mobile app for drops or subscriptions, and our ecommerce marketing team handles SEO, shopping feeds and retention once the store is live.
- Will my ecommerce store website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- Can I get one of these ecommerce website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for ecommerce and shopify stores. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
