Courier service website design that books the pickup

Courier website design for same-day, on-demand and last-mile couriers: a price and a pickup time from three fields, tracking a recipient can open without an account, and plain words on what you will not carry and what you cover if something goes wrong.

The short answer

What should a courier service website include?

A courier website should get a sender from “where and when” to a price and a booked pickup in under a minute, then let the recipient track the job without signing in. It should also say plainly what you will not carry, how much you cover unless a higher value is declared, and, for letters, which urgent services you offer.

Built in

What every courier service website includes

  • Pickup, drop-off, ready by: then a price

The booking form asks the three things that set a courier price and shows the total, fuel included, before card or account details. Senders who only want a number get one without being asked to register.

  • Tracking for the person waiting

A tracking link the recipient can open without an account, with the driver’s progress, an arrival window, and a photo and name on delivery. It cuts the “where is it” calls that tie up dispatch.

  • A plain list of what you will not carry

Dangerous goods, cash, live animals and anything else you decline, on one page linked from the booking form, with the reason given. Senders with specimens or batteries get a branch that asks the right questions first.

  • Cover limits before payment, not after a claim

The standard liability limit and the declared-value option sit next to the book button, and the terms of carriage are one click away. A sender who needs more cover can buy it in the same step.

  • Business accounts that self-serve

An account application, saved addresses, bulk upload by spreadsheet and monthly invoices with delivery proof attached. It sends to your dispatch software by email, webhook or API, and a direct connection is scoped and quoted.

  • Service pages by sector and zone

Pages for lab runs, legal filings, retail last-mile and each zone you cover, written for what each buyer searches. A courier that serves several towns ranks in each one rather than only at head office.

  • Rider and driver recruiting

A separate path for couriers who want to drive or ride for you, saying plainly whether the work is employment or contract, with the documents and vehicle you require listed up front.

Compliance

The rules for courier services, handled in the design

A courier’s website rules are about what it carries and how it prices: letters, dangerous goods, liability limits and the total price. These are the ones we design around in Canada, the US and the UK, each linked to the body that sets it.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your insurer, your dangerous goods adviser or your lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • Canada

Letters belong to Canada Post, with urgent-letter exceptions

The Canada Post Corporation Act gives Canada Post the exclusive privilege of collecting and delivering letters in Canada, with exceptions that include urgent letters carried by messenger for a fee at least three times the regular domestic postage for a 50-gram letter. Letter services on the designs are described and priced as urgent ones.

Justice Laws — Canada Post Corporation Act (sections 14 and 15)

  • US

Private Express Statutes and extremely urgent letters

In the US, letters are reserved to the Postal Service except under listed suspensions, one of which covers extremely urgent letters, presumed where the charge is at least three dollars or twice First-Class postage, or met by delivery within set time limits for a letter whose value would be lost if it arrived later. Document couriers describe their letter service in those terms and do not offer ordinary, non-urgent letter delivery as a substitute for the mail.

eCFR — 39 CFR 320.6, Suspension for extremely urgent letters

  • Canada

Dangerous goods: say what you accept

Under Canada’s Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations, goods must be classified, documented and marked, and anyone who handles or carries them must be trained or directly supervised by someone who is. A courier that does not handle them says so on the booking path and lists common examples, such as lithium batteries and aerosols, so senders do not hand them over by mistake.

Transport Canada — Transportation of dangerous goods in Canada

  • US

    Hazardous materials under 49 CFR

The US Hazardous Materials Regulations apply to anyone who offers hazmat for transport in commerce, transports it, or performs a pre-transportation function, small carriers included. The designs ask about hazmat before a price is shown and route anything declared to a specialist answer instead of an instant booking.

eCFR — 49 CFR 171.1, Applicability of the Hazardous Materials Regulations

  • Ontario

    Liability limits and declared value

For goods carried for pay by commercial vehicle, Ontario’s carriage of goods regulation sets uniform conditions of carriage that cap a carrier’s liability per kilogram unless a value is declared on the contract of carriage. The designs state the limit and offer declared-value cover beside the book button, where a sender reads it before paying.

    Ontario e-Laws — O. Reg. 643/05, Carriage of goods

  • Canada

No drip pricing on fuel and fees

Canada’s Competition Act treats a price that cannot be obtained because of fixed obligatory charges added on top as a false or misleading representation, unless the extra is only a government-imposed amount such as tax. Fuel surcharges and mandatory fees are therefore included in the price a booking form shows, and only optional extras are added later.

Justice Laws — Competition Act (section 74.01)

  • UK

Total price up front under the DMCC Act

Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, an invitation to purchase aimed at consumers must give the total price including mandatory fees and charges, and leaving it out can be an unfair commercial practice. UK versions show the total, with any fuel or handling charge included, the first time a price appears.

Questions

Courier services: common questions

How much does a courier service website cost?
A courier service website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Can a courier company deliver letters?
Only within the exceptions. In Canada, Canada Post holds the exclusive privilege for letters, and one exception covers urgent letters carried for at least three times the regular postage. In the US, the Private Express Statutes have a similar suspension for extremely urgent letters. Our document courier designs describe letter services as urgent ones.Parcels, packages and most business documents that are not letters in the legal sense are a different matter. Your lawyer confirms where your services fall.
Should a courier website show prices online?
Showing a price before booking is what turns a visitor into a job, and it can be done without a public rate sheet: the form prices each job from pickup, drop-off, size and time. Whatever is shown should already include fuel and mandatory fees, because Canada and the UK both treat dripping those in later as misleading.
How do we show liability limits and declared value on the site?
Beside the book button. The standard cover limit is stated in plain words, a declared-value option lets the sender buy more cover in the same step, and the full terms of carriage are one click away. In Ontario the carriage of goods regulation sets a per-kilogram limit unless a higher value is declared.
Can you build a courier booking and tracking app?
Yes, as a separate project. A sender app with saved addresses, repeat jobs and live tracking, a driver app for scans and proof of delivery, and a business dashboard can all be planned together. We scope what it connects to, such as your dispatch software, with an advisor and quote it before any work starts.
Will my courier service website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
How long does a courier service website take to build?
About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. Before launch you book a test job and open its tracking link on a second phone to see what a recipient sees.
Can I get one of these courier website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for courier services. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
