The short answer

What should a café or coffee shop website include?

A coffee shop website needs today’s hours, holiday closures included, a drink menu with milk options and allergens, mobile order-ahead with a pickup time, and a loyalty or email sign-up with clear consent. Roasters add a bean shop with subscriptions and shipping days. Gift cards need their expiry and fee terms stated before purchase.

Built in

What every café website includes

  • Order-ahead with real pickup times

Mobile ordering through Square, Toast or Clover, linked or embedded where the provider’s access allows, with pickup slots that match how many drinks the bar can make, and milk and syrup options priced as you set them.

  • Loyalty people finish signing up for

A short rewards sign-up on the site and at the till, with marketing consent asked as a separate choice, so the rewards list and the email list stay honest and you can message the people who said yes.

  • Hours that never lie

Opening hours, holiday closures and early finishes set once and shown on the site, in structured data and on your Google Business Profile, with an “open now” line that reads the real time of day.

  • A drink menu with every option

Espresso drinks, filter, cold brew and teas with milk alternatives, sizes and allergens, written as text rather than a photo of the chalkboard, so phones, screen readers and search engines can all read it.

  • A bean shop and subscriptions

For roasters: whole bean and ground coffee with tasting notes, roast and ship days stated, and subscriptions with pause, skip and cancel terms shown before checkout, on Shopify or Square Online where you already sell.

  • Gift cards with honest terms

Digital gift cards sold from the site, with expiry and any fee terms written before purchase in the form your province or state requires, and a balance check that works without calling the café.

  • Classes, cuppings and the back room

Brewing classes, cuppings and room bookings listed as events with seats left, paid at booking, with the refund terms beside the button.

  • Wholesale and office coffee

A short form for cafés, restaurants and offices that want your beans, asking for weekly volume, brew method and delivery area, so wholesale leads arrive ready to quote.

Compliance

The rules for cafés and coffee shops, handled in the design

A café site touches gift cards, rewards data, offer emails and online ordering, and each has its own rules. Each rule below links to its source.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer or local health unit has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • US

    Gift card expiry and fees

Regulation E says store gift card funds may not expire within five years of issue or last load, limits dormancy and inactivity fees, and requires fee and expiry terms to be disclosed before purchase. The gift card page states those terms before checkout; state laws can be stricter, so your terms follow the stricter rule.

    US — Regulation E, 12 CFR 1005.20 (CFPB)

  • Ontario

Gift cards that do not expire

Ontario’s consumer protection rules ban expiry dates on most retail gift cards, with exceptions such as a card for one specific service, and restrict fees. The gift card page says the card does not expire and lists any conditions in plain words before payment.

Ontario — Buying or using gift cards

  • Canada

    Loyalty data and consent

Under PIPEDA, the Privacy Commissioner’s guidance on the form of consent says using loyalty members’ purchase habits for tailored offers is likely sensitive enough to call for opt-in consent. Sign-up separates the rewards account from marketing use, says what is collected, and links the privacy policy.

Canada — OPC Interpretation Bulletin: Form of Consent (PIPEDA)

  • Canada

    Offer emails and CASL

A new-drink announcement or a double-points offer is a commercial electronic message under CASL, so it needs consent, identifies the café and includes a working unsubscribe. The sign-up box is never pre-ticked, and every email footer carries the café’s mailing address.

Canada — CRTC: Frequently asked questions about CASL

  • US

    Gifted posts from creators

When you give free drinks or pay a creator to post about the café, the FTC’s Endorsement Guides expect the connection to be disclosed clearly. Creator content shown on the site keeps its disclosure, and a gifted post is never presented as an independent review.

US — 16 CFR Part 255, Guides Concerning Endorsements and Testimonials (eCFR)

  • US

    Ordering that works for everyone

The Justice Department’s guidance says the ADA covers the goods and services businesses open to the public offer online, and points to WCAG as helpful technical guidance. The order-ahead path, the drink menu and the rewards sign-up are built to WCAG 2.1 AA and tested with a keyboard.

Websites, apps, branding and SEO for cafés and coffee shops

  • Websites

Cafés and coffee shops websites built on the designs above, fast and set up for search.

  • Apps

For a single café, order-ahead on the website does the job without an app. A branded app starts to pay for itself when several shops share a loyal daily crowd.

  • Branding

A café brand is held in the hand: the cup, the sleeve, the bag of beans and the sign over the door, so it has to read at small sizes and at a distance.

Questions

Cafés and coffee shops: common questions

How much does a coffee shop website cost?
A coffee shop website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Can customers order ahead on my café website?
Yes. Order-ahead runs through your point-of-sale system, such as Square, Toast or Clover, linked or embedded where the provider’s access allows, so orders print at the bar like any other. Pickup times follow what the bar can make, and modifiers like oat milk or an extra shot are priced the way you set them.
Do I need an app for a café loyalty program?
Usually not. A rewards sign-up on the website and at the till, tied to a phone number, works for most single shops and costs far less than an app. An app becomes worth it when several shops share a large daily crowd that orders ahead, and we can build that once the website is doing its job.
Can I sell coffee beans and subscriptions on the same site?
Yes. Roasters get a bean shop with tasting notes, grind options, roast and ship days, and subscriptions customers can pause, skip or cancel themselves. It runs on Shopify or Square Online where you already sell, and the subscription terms and ship dates are shown before checkout, as online sales rules expect.
Can BOOSTD also build a café app or run SEO for my coffee shop?
Yes. Our request form takes enquiries for websites, apps, SEO and marketing alike: tick an order-ahead app, local SEO for each shop or help with offer emails alongside the site. For a café group with more shops than a plan includes, the multi-location option on the demo form gets every shop quoted together.
Will my café website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
Can I get one of these café website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for cafés and coffee shops. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
