Websites for bars and pubs
Bar and pub website design that sells the night before it starts
Fast, premium websites for bars, pubs and cocktail rooms: an events calendar that sells tickets at the all-in price, a drinks list you edit yourself, table and private hire booking, and advertising wording your liquor regulator will accept, with SEO from day one.
- Website from $150/month, yours after 12 payments
- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should a bar or pub website include?
A bar website needs tonight’s hours and what is on: live music, trivia or the game, with tickets sold at the full price including fees. Add a drinks and food list you can edit, booth and private hire booking, and your licence details. Drink specials and promotions must follow your liquor regulator’s advertising rules, which differ by province and state.

What every bar website includes
An events calendar that sells out shows
Live music, trivia, comedy and match nights as events with dates, doors and set times, marked up so search engines can list them, with tickets sold through your ticketing provider at the full price including every mandatory fee.
A drinks list the bar can edit
Cocktails, taps, wine and zero-proof drinks as text, updated from a phone when a keg kicks or the season changes, with alcohol content written as the producer’s label states it and food allergens on the kitchen menu.
Booths, tables and minimum spends
Table and booth booking for busy nights and big games, through your reservation system where its access allows or our own form, with any deposit or minimum spend shown before the guest confirms.
Private hire that arrives ready to quote
A page per space with capacity, sound and layout, and a hire form that asks for date, guest count, budget and occasion, and the person who runs events answers with packages rather than questions.
Promotions written for your regulator
Happy hour and drink-special pages worded to your province’s or state’s advertising rules, which differ widely, with no wording that encourages heavy drinking and no imagery that appeals to minors.
Age-aware by design
Event pages say when a night is 19+ or 21+, an optional age prompt can sit in front of drinks content where you want one, and nothing in the design is aimed at people under the legal drinking age.
Hours, kitchen times and late licences
Opening hours, kitchen hours and holiday closures set once and shown on the site and in structured data, so a late-night search shows whether the kitchen is still serving.
Compliance
The rules for bars and pubs, handled in the design
Bar websites are liquor advertising, so the regulator’s rules shape the wording: promotions, appeal to minors, supplier money and ticket prices. Each rule below links to its source.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer or liquor regulator has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.
- Ontario
AGCO advertising and promotion standards
Ontario licensees may advertise liquor only in line with the Registrar’s standards: no appeal to people under the legal drinking age, no suggestion that drinking brings social or personal success, and prices and promotions posted responsibly, never encouraging immoderate consumption. Event and drinks pages are written to those standards.

- US · state law
Happy hours and drink specials by state
US states regulate drink specials very differently: the federal Alcohol Policy Information System groups states by whether happy-hour pricing is banned, restricted to certain hours or not limited by law. The specials page is switched off or reworded per state, and your state’s alcohol beverage control agency has the final word.

Supplier-paid advertising and tied-house rules
Federal tied-house rules bar brewers, distillers, importers and wholesalers from giving retailers money, services or other things of value except as TTB’s regulations allow. If a supplier offers to pay for your website, an event page or advertising, check it against those exceptions and your state’s rules first.
- US
All-in prices for event tickets
A federal trade rule in force since May 2025 requires anyone who advertises a price for a live-event ticket to show the total price, including mandatory fees, clearly and before any other price. Ticket buttons and listings on the site show the all-in price first.
US — FTC: Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees, frequently asked questions
- Ontario
Ticket Sales Act price display
Ontario’s Ticket Sales Act, 2017 asks ticket businesses to show the ticket’s face value and its total price, including fees, service charges and taxes, in Canadian dollars. Shows sold from the bar’s own site display both before checkout.

Most bars need a good website, not an app. An app pays off for venues with a ticketed calendar and regulars who come for the events.

Questions
Bars and pubs: common questions
- How much does a bar website cost?
- A bar or pub website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Can my bar website sell event tickets?
- Yes. Each show, quiz or match night is an event page with doors and set times, and tickets sell through your ticketing provider, linked or embedded where its access allows. The price shown first is the total with every mandatory fee, which US federal rules and Ontario’s Ticket Sales Act both expect for event tickets.
- Can I advertise happy hour on my bar’s website?
- It depends on where you are. Ontario lets licensees advertise prices and promotions if they do so responsibly and never encourage immoderate consumption, while some US states ban or restrict happy-hour pricing. We word the specials page for your market and leave it off where it is not allowed; your lawyer or regulator signs off the wording.
- Does a bar website need an age gate?
- Usually not by law for a bar’s own site, but liquor advertising must not appeal to people under the legal drinking age. Every design avoids that, event pages say when a night is 19+ or 21+, and an optional age prompt can sit in front of drinks content if you or your supplier agreements want one.
- Can BOOSTD also handle our bar’s marketing, SEO or an events app?
- Yes. A single request can be for a bar website, an events app, SEO or marketing, including local SEO and promotion for your show nights. Groups that run several bars, or a franchise, get a quote instead through a demo with the multi-location option ticked, and each venue is planned with its own pages.
- Will my bar website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- Can I get one of these bar and pub website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for bars and pubs. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
