Automatic SEO: what runs on its own and what you approve
Automatic SEO means software does the weekly search work for you: it runs 262 checks on your website, fixes the small safe things and gets everything else ready for your OK. Here is what runs by itself, what waits for you, and what to expect by month 3.

Why owners look for automatic SEO
Most owners do not wake up wanting SEO. They want the phone to ring. These are the problems that bring them here.
- The phone has gone quiet.
- People still need what you sell. They are finding someone else first. When a search does not show your business, the call goes to whoever it does show.
- You are not on Google Maps or in ChatGPT’s answer.
- Maps results and AI answers lean on your Google listing, your reviews and what your website says. If those are thin or out of date, you are left out of the answer.
- Competitors with worse service get the calls.
- They are not better at the job. Their website, listing and reviews are simply easier for Google to read and trust.
- No time, and agencies cost too much.
- SEO is weekly work: checking, fixing, writing, replying. An agency charges for those hours and often cannot show what it did. Doing it yourself takes evenings you do not have.
The short answer
What automatic SEO means at BOOSTD
Automatic SEO means the routine search work happens every week without you doing it, and the decisions stay with you. BOOSTD runs 262 checks on your website: speed, pages, listings, reviews, links, how AI answers describe you and how visitors turn into calls.
Then it sorts what it found. Small fixes that undo in one step go ahead on their own. Anything that changes what your business says, or would be hard to undo, comes to you first with the before and after side by side.
You get a short report each month: where you show up, what was done, and the calls and forms that came in.
Automatic
What runs on its own every week
This is the default, “Small fixes on their own”. You can switch to “Ask me first” to see every change first.
- The full 262-check audit of your website, with your most important searches tracked every day
- Fixes that undo in one step: page titles, descriptions, image text, structured data and safe internal links
- Checking every live change, and undoing it if a page errors or a form stops working
- Comparing your name, address, hours and phone across the main directories, and flagging any that differ
- A drafted reply to every new review; thank-yous to happy four- and five-star reviews can go out on their own if you allow it
- Watching what AI assistants like ChatGPT say about you and your competitors
- Tracking calls and forms, and the monthly report
Your call
What still needs your OK
Comes to you first
- New pages and any rewrite of what your website says
- A reply to an unhappy review: it is drafted for you, never sent on its own
- Deleting pages, bulk redirects and changes to your main menu
- Anything outside the rules you set, like “never change prices”
Never touched without you
- Checkout, payment and login pages
- Privacy, terms and other legal pages
- Your domain and DNS settings
- Any page or field you add to the protected list
What to expect
Week 1, month 1 and month 3
A realistic timeline. Quick wins come first; competitive searches take longer, and the plan says which is which from the start.
Week 1: the 7-day trial
We run the full 262-check audit, look at the searches your customers make and the competitors getting their calls, and build your plan. Nothing on your website changes. No credit card is needed.
You get: Your audit, your competitors and a ranked plan
Month 1: the fixes start
Safe fixes go live and are checked. Your Google listing is filled in and your details matched across directories. Review replies are drafted. The first new pages arrive for your OK.
You get: Website fixes, a cleaner listing and your first report
Month 3: the first movement
New pages are live. Searches with little competition often start to move within 4 to 8 weeks; competitive ones usually take 6 to 12 months. Your report shows what moved and what did not, and where each figure comes from.
You get: A report on rankings, calls and forms against the month you started
Your options
Automatic SEO vs an agency, a freelancer and DIY tools
Kinds of option, not named companies. Each is right for someone; an agency is still worth it for a large brand with a big budget.
| Dimension | BOOSTD | SEO agency | Freelancer | DIY SEO tools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Who does the work | Software every week, you approve the big things | Their team | One person, when they have time | You do |
| Typical cost | Local and Growth plans, from $149 a month | Often $1,000s a month | Varies, often by the hour | $100–$500 a month plus your time |
| What you see | Every change, before and after, and a monthly report | A monthly report | Whatever they send | Data, and you work out what it means |
| Changes to your website | Small safe fixes on their own, the rest with your OK, all undoable | Usually, on their schedule | Usually, if you give access | You make them |
| Listings, reviews and leads | Included in every plan | Often extra | Rarely | Some tools, set up by you |
The limits
What automatic SEO cannot do
Better to read these now than to find them out in month 4.
- We never promise a #1 ranking or any specific position on Google. Google warns businesses about anyone who does, because nobody controls where a page ranks.
- It cannot make a slow, broken website rank. If your site is the problem, the audit says so, and a new website may be the cheaper fix.
- It cannot decide for you. Approvals left waiting slow everything down, so a few minutes a week matters.
- Some sites do not allow automated replies. Yelp, for one, forbids them, so those replies are drafted for you to paste.
- Nobody controls what ChatGPT or Google’s AI says. We work on the pages and facts they rely on and show you what they say.

Questions about automatic SEO
What is automatic SEO?
Automatic SEO is search engine optimisation where software does the routine work on a schedule. At BOOSTD that means running 262 checks on your website every week, fixing the small things that undo in one step, and preparing everything bigger for you to approve.
It covers Google, Google Maps and AI answers like ChatGPT, plus your listings, reviews and the calls and forms your website brings in.
Does automatic SEO work on my website platform?
On WordPress and Shopify we make the safe fixes on your website ourselves, after your approval where it is needed. On Wix, Webflow or Squarespace you get done-for-you guided fixes: we prepare each change exactly, with where it goes, you paste it in, and we check your live page.
Once your website is connected, your account shows exactly how many of the checks we can fix for you on your platform, and the rest are prepared for you.
Is automated SEO safe for my website?
It is when the rules are strict. Only low-risk changes run on their own, each one is checked once it is live and undone if anything breaks. Checkout, login, payment and legal pages are never touched without you.
During the trial only up to 3 simple fixes you approve go live.
Will Google penalise automated SEO?
Google penalises spam, not software. Mass-produced pages written to game rankings break its rules, however they are made. BOOSTD does not publish pages without your OK, does not buy links and writes each new page for a search your customers really make.
How much of my time does it take?
A few minutes a week. Most weeks there is a change or two to approve, a review reply to send or a question about your business. Everything else runs without you.
Does automatic SEO guarantee rankings?
No. We never promise a #1 ranking or any specific position on Google. Google warns businesses about anyone who does, because nobody controls where a page ranks.
What we do guarantee is measured on your own data: your BOOSTD score improves by at least 3 points within 90 days of your first paid month, or your next month is free.
How much does automatic SEO cost?
Local and Growth plans, from $149 a month, with every feature on every plan. No minimum term: plans run month to month with 30 days’ notice. The free SEO audit costs nothing and changes nothing.
