Websites for movers
Moving company website design that turns quotes into booked moves
Websites for local movers, interstate household-goods carriers and moving brokers: a move-size quote that asks the right questions, video surveys for real estimates, the USDOT number and federal consumer links where interstate rules expect them, and storage that sells itself.
- Website from $150/month, yours after 12 payments
- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should a moving company website include?
A moving company website should ask for the move size, dates and both addresses, offer a video or in-home survey before a firm price, and explain binding and non-binding estimates clearly. Interstate carriers must show their registered name and USDOT number and link FMCSA’s consumer guides, and a broker must say plainly that it is a broker.

What every moving company website includes
A quote form that asks moving questions
Move size, floors, lifts, parking, long carries and dates come first, because they decide the crew and the truck; the office gets an enquiry it can price instead of a name and a phone number.
Video surveys before firm prices
Customers book a live video walkthrough or upload a clip of each room, so your estimator sees the wardrobe in the spare room before quoting, and every estimate can be written against an inventory.
Estimate types explained in plain words
A page and a short note on every quote explain binding and non-binding estimates the way federal rules define them, so the site never promises a “guaranteed price” the paperwork does not back.
Registration and consumer guides site-wide
For interstate carriers the registered name and USDOT number sit in the footer of every page, with links to FMCSA’s Ready to Move? and Your Rights and Responsibilities guides, entered once and reused everywhere.
A carrier or broker switch
At set-up you tell us whether you move goods yourself or arrange moves through carriers. Broker sites get the broker statement, address and numbers on the homepage, and the wording on every page follows that choice.
Storage and packing as add-ons
Storage units, packing crews and boxes appear inside the quote, not on a buried page, so a customer between homes books the storage and the move in one go and your office sees both together.
Found locally
How movers get found in the areas they serve
Google runs the Business Profile and Local Services Ads programmes and decides who qualifies. We build the site and the area pages to Google’s rules and keep your profile accurate. Badges such as Google Verified (which replaced Google Guaranteed and Google Screened in 2025) are Google’s to grant, not ours.
- 01
Google Business Profile
Primary category “Moving company”, with “Moving and storage service” added only if you really store goods, a service area rather than a depot address customers never visit, and the business name exactly as registered.
- 02
Local Services Ads
Where Google offers Local Services Ads for movers in your area, Google screens the business and may show its Google Verified badge, the badge that replaced Google Guaranteed in 2025. You apply to Google; the site is where those leads compare you.
- 03
Route and neighbourhood pages
A page for a city you really serve or a route you really run, with its own detail: building rules, typical homes, how long the drive takes. Cloned “movers in [city]” pages are doorway pages to Google and are not published.
- 04
Plan for the peak season
Summer and end-of-month dates fill first. The site can show which weeks are filling up and push survey bookings early, and your profile hours should match when the office really answers during peak weeks.
Compliance
The rules for movers, handled in the design
An interstate move is one of the few home services where federal rules reach the website itself: the name, the USDOT number, two consumer guides and the meaning of “estimate” are all spelled out. Local moves follow state and provincial rules instead.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so FMCSA, your state or provincial regulator or a transportation lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.
- US · interstate
Name and USDOT number in every ad
FMCSA’s household goods rules require an interstate carrier’s advertisements, websites included, to show the name it registered under and its USDOT number in the form “U.S. DOT No.” followed by the number. The footer of every page carries both, and quote pages repeat them.
- US · interstate
Link the two federal moving guides
A carrier with a website must prominently link or reproduce FMCSA’s “Ready to Move?” guide, and must give shippers “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move”, which a website link can supply. Both links sit in the footer and beside every estimate request.
- US · brokers
A broker must say it is a broker
Household goods brokers must state prominently in ads and on the website homepage that they are brokers, that they do not transport goods and that a carrier performs the move, with their address and USDOT and MC numbers. Broker sites carry that statement above the fold.
- US · interstate
Binding and non-binding estimates
Under the federal rules a binding estimate fixes the charge for the listed goods and services, while a non-binding one lets the carrier collect only up to a capped amount above the estimate at delivery, with final charges set by the tariff. The site calls an estimate binding only when it is.
- Ontario
Written contracts and no goods held hostage
Ontario’s consumer guidance on hiring a mover says contracts above a small threshold must be in writing, and that holding a customer’s belongings to force a higher price is an unfair practice. Ontario sites explain the written contract and never hint that goods are released only on renegotiation.
- US
Consent for quote follow-up texts
Before a mover’s system texts a lead about deals, the TCPA as the FCC applies it wants signed-off written consent, and a customer may revoke it by any reasonable means. The quote form asks for text consent in a separate, unticked box naming the mover, and survey reminders say how to stop them.

Questions
Movers: common questions
- How much does a moving company website cost?
- A moving company website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.Moving software, call tracking and any lead programmes are billed by their own providers.
- Where does my USDOT number have to appear on my website?
- If you carry household goods across state lines, FMCSA’s rules expect your registered name and USDOT number in your advertising, and that includes the website. We put both in the footer of every page and on quote pages, with links to the Ready to Move? and Your Rights and Responsibilities guides beside them.
- Can my website give instant moving quotes?
- It can give a range or an hourly estimate from move size, floors and dates, clearly labelled as preliminary. A binding or non-binding estimate for an interstate move follows a survey, in person or by video, so the site books that survey and the written estimate states which kind it is.
- I am a moving broker. What does my website need to say?
- Federal rules require a household goods broker to state prominently on its homepage and in its ads that it is a broker, that it does not move goods itself and that an authorised carrier does, along with its address, USDOT and MC numbers. Broker designs carry that statement at the top, not in small print.
- Do I need separate pages for each city or route I serve?
- Only for cities and routes you genuinely work, each with its own detail: building rules, parking, the homes you move there and the drive between. Near-identical “movers in” pages are what Google calls doorway pages, so we write each one from your real jobs or leave it out.
- Can customers book storage on the same website?
- Yes. Storage sits inside the quote as an add-on with sizes and lengths of stay, and it has its own pages for people who only need a unit. Prices are the ones you set, and storage terms are shown in writing before anyone signs, so the move and the vault are booked together.
- Will my moving company website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- How long does a moving company website take to build?
- About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts. We aim to launch before your peak season, and connect quotes to your moving software in the last week.
- Can I get one of these moving website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for movers. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
