The short answer

What should a landscaping or lawn care website include?

A landscaping website should let a homeowner start a weekly mowing or treatment plan online, request a design-build quote with yard photos, and see finished projects as before-and-after pairs. It should name the neighbourhoods your crews cover, show irrigation and pesticide licence numbers where rules ask for them, and sell spring and autumn work before the season arrives.

Built in

What every landscaper website includes

  • Recurring plans that sign up online

Weekly mowing, fortnightly cuts and seasonal treatment programmes sell as plans: the homeowner picks a day and a frequency, and each sign-up reaches your scheduling tool or inbox for the crew lead to confirm the yard.

  • Before-and-after project pairs

Design-build work is shown as captioned pairs from your own job photos, with what was built, the materials and the neighbourhood, so a patio or retaining wall sells on evidence rather than adjectives.

  • Yard-photo and measurement quotes

Clean-up, sod and mulch requests arrive with photos and a rough size, so you can price a job or decline it before anyone drives out, and big design projects route to a design visit instead.

  • Seasonal switches for spring and autumn

The homepage changes with the calendar: spring clean-ups and aeration in March, irrigation start-ups in April, leaf removal and snow contracts in October, each with a waitlist when the schedule fills.

  • Licence lines for irrigation and treatments

Irrigator, pesticide applicator and contractor numbers are entered once and printed where your state or province expects them: on the footer, on irrigation and treatment pages and on every quote form.

  • Route-area pages that build density

One page per neighbourhood your crews actually cover, written from what you see there: soil, shade, lot sizes and the mowing day. It brings in sign-ups on streets your trucks already pass, which keeps drive time down.

Found locally

How landscapers and lawn care get found in the areas they serve

Google runs the Business Profile and Local Services Ads programmes and decides who qualifies. We build the site and the area pages to Google’s rules and keep your profile accurate. Badges such as Google Verified (which replaced Google Guaranteed and Google Screened in 2025) are Google’s to grant, not ours.

  1. 01

    Google Business Profile

Primary category “Landscaper” or “Lawn care service”, whichever describes most of your work, with the other as a secondary category and each service listed. As a service-area business, hide the yard address and set the towns you mow.

  2. 02

    Local Services Ads

Where Google offers Local Services Ads for your trade and market, Google screens the business and may show its Google Verified badge, and you pay per lead. You apply to Google directly; the site is where those leads check your work before calling.

  3. 03

    Neighbourhood pages, not doorway pages

Google’s spam policies treat near-identical town pages as doorway abuse. Each area page carries its own crew, mowing day, soil notes and local projects, or it is not published.

  4. 04

Ahead of the season, not during it

Lawn and landscaping searches climb weeks before the work: clean-up and aeration pages go live in late winter, leaf and snow pages in late summer, so they are indexed when homeowners start looking.

Compliance

The rules for landscapers and lawn care, handled in the design

Mowing needs no special licence, but irrigation, weed and insect treatments and some hardscape work do, and the rules decide what a lawn company may advertise at all. These are the ones the designs are built around.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your state or provincial pesticide regulator, irrigation licensing office or lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • Ontario

Cosmetic pesticide ban on lawns and gardens

Ontario’s cosmetic pesticides ban prohibits most pesticide use for cosmetic purposes on lawns and gardens; only ingredients on the province’s Allowable List may be used cosmetically, with narrow exceptions such as health or safety. Ontario sites do not advertise conventional weed or insect spraying, and treatment pages describe only permitted methods.

  • Texas

Irrigator licence “LI” number in every advertisement

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality material says every form of advertising for irrigation services must show the irrigator’s licence number as “LI” followed by the number, and contracts, bids and invoices must show it too. Irrigation pages, the footer and quote forms carry the LI number.

  • Texas · other US states

    Applicator licence before advertising treatments

Lawn treatments for hire with herbicides or insecticides need state applicator licensing, and the Texas Department of Agriculture says a business licence in the right category comes before advertising. Rules vary by state, so weed, grub and insect treatment pages appear only once the client confirms its licence.

  • Texas

    Backflow and watering restrictions

Texas irrigation rules say backflow prevention assemblies go in under a licensed irrigator and are tested by a licensed tester, and local water utilities set their own watering restrictions. Sprinkler pages never promise a watering schedule, and backflow testing is offered only with a tester named.

    “Eco-friendly” and “organic” lawn claims

The FTC’s Green Guides warn that unqualified claims such as “eco-friendly” or “environmentally safe” are hard to substantiate. Organic and low-input programmes are described by what they actually use and skip, not with a blanket green label.

  • US

    Consent before mowing-day reminder texts

Marketing texts sent with an autodialer need prior express written consent under the FCC’s TCPA rules, and opt-outs must be honoured within 10 business days. Plan sign-ups carry a separate, unticked text-consent box, and consent is logged with the page and time.

Questions

Landscapers and lawn care: common questions

How much does a landscaping website cost?
A landscaping website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.Scheduling software, call tracking and Local Services Ads are billed by their own providers.
Can customers sign up for a mowing plan on the website?
Yes. A homeowner chooses a mowing day and a frequency, adds treatments if they want them, and the sign-up reaches your scheduling tool or inbox. The crew lead confirms the yard size and access before the first cut, so nobody is held to a price for a lawn you have not seen.
How should a landscaper show design-build projects online?
As before-and-after pairs from your own job photos, each captioned with what was built, the materials and the neighbourhood. A homeowner weighing a patio or retaining wall wants to see your finished work, not stock photos, and captioned pairs also give each project page real text for search.
Which licence numbers belong on a landscaping website?
It depends on what you sell and where. Texas irrigation material says the irrigator’s “LI” number must appear in every form of advertising, and states license pesticide and herbicide applicators separately. Contractor licences apply to hardscape work in some states. Each number is entered once and printed where it is expected.
Can an Ontario lawn care company advertise weed control?
Only carefully. Ontario’s cosmetic pesticides ban prohibits most pesticide use on lawns and gardens for cosmetic purposes, and only Allowable List ingredients may be used. An Ontario site describes the methods you actually use, such as overseeding, mowing height and permitted products, and never offers conventional weed spraying.
Should I have a page for every neighbourhood I mow?
Only for neighbourhoods your crews genuinely cover, written with real detail: soil, shade, lot sizes, the mowing day and projects nearby. Google treats near-identical area pages as doorway pages, and dense routes are where lawn care makes its margin, so these pages target the streets you already drive.
Will my landscaper website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
Can I get one of these landscaping website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for landscapers and lawn care. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
