The short answer

What should a hotel or B&B website include?

A hotel or B&B website needs a date and guest search on every page that opens your booking engine, a page for each room type with its size, beds, view and accessible features, and prices shown as the total including mandatory fees. Add your policies, location and things to do nearby, and a reason to book direct.

Built in

What every hotel or B&B website includes

  • Your booking engine, wired into every page

A date and guest picker on every page that opens your booking engine with the dates already filled in. We connect to the engine you use, such as Cloudbeds or another channel manager’s booking page, where the provider’s access allows.

  • Total prices with the fees included

Any rate the site shows is the total for the stay with resort, cleaning and service fees folded in, taxes stated separately, so the price a guest sees on your site is the one they pay.

  • Room pages with real accessibility detail

Each room type gets its own page: size, beds, view, bathroom type and the accessible features in plain words, such as a roll-in shower, grab bars or visual alarms, plus the step-free route from the door.

  • A reason to book direct

A clearly worded direct-booking benefit, such as breakfast, flexible cancellation or late checkout, shown beside the booking bar, so a guest who found you on a travel site has a reason to finish on yours.

  • Policies guests read before they arrive

Check-in times, pets, children, parking, deposits and cancellation set out on one page and linked from the booking step, so fewer guests phone with questions and fewer disputes reach the front desk.

  • Local pages for the trip, not the hotel

Guides to what guests come for, such as the festival, the trail or the conference centre, written from what your staff actually recommend, which bring in searches made before a traveller has picked a hotel.

  • Group, wedding and meeting enquiries

A separate enquiry form for room blocks, weddings and meetings that asks for dates, room count and meeting space, so group business reaches your sales manager instead of the reservations inbox.

  • Multi-property search for groups

For a group of hotels, one search across every property with each hotel keeping its own page, licence and local content. More than a few properties? Choose the multi-location option on a demo call and we quote the network.

Compliance

The rules for hotels and b&bs, handled in the design

Hotels and B&Bs are judged on how they display prices and how they describe accessible rooms, and the rules differ between the US and Canada. These are the ones the designs follow, and each rule links to its source.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer or tourism licensing office has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • US

    Total price for short-term lodging

The FTC’s fees rule makes it unlawful to show a price for short-term lodging without clearly and prominently disclosing the total price, including mandatory fees such as resort fees; government charges may be shown separately. Rate displays in the designs are totals, and the total is the most prominent price.

US — 16 CFR Part 464, Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees (eCFR)

  • Canada

    Drip pricing

Canada amended its Competition Act in 2022 so that a room rate a guest cannot actually pay, because compulsory fixed fees appear later in the booking, counts as a misleading representation; only government-imposed charges such as taxes are excepted. Room rates are shown with every mandatory hotel fee already included.

Competition Bureau — Guide to the 2022 amendments to the Competition Act

  • US

Accessible rooms in the reservations process

Under the ADA Title III rules, a place of lodging must identify and describe the accessible features of the hotel and its guest rooms in its reservations service in enough detail for a guest to judge whether a room meets their needs, and let accessible rooms be booked the same way as others. Every room page and the booking step carry that detail.

US — 28 CFR 36.302(e), hotel reservations (eCFR)

  • Ontario

    Accessible website for larger employers

Ontario’s Integrated Accessibility Standards require private organisations with 50 or more employees to reach WCAG 2.0 Level AA on their public websites, live captions and pre-recorded audio description excepted. The designs are built to that level, which many smaller inns adopt anyway.

    Ontario — O. Reg. 191/11, Integrated Accessibility Standards, s. 14

  • US

    Guest reviews you show

The FTC’s consumer reviews rule bars fake reviews, reviews written by people who never stayed, buying positive reviews and suppressing negative ones. Review sections pull only genuine guest reviews from the platform you choose, and nothing is filtered by score.

FTC — Rule on the use of consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465)

Questions

Hotels and B&Bs: common questions

How much does a hotel website cost?
A hotel or B&B website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Does the website work with my booking engine?
Yes. The date and guest picker on every page opens your own booking engine with the dates filled in, and we style its entry point to match the site. We connect to engines such as Cloudbeds or your channel manager’s booking page where the provider’s access allows; if yours cannot be connected, the button links straight to it.
How should a hotel website show room prices?
Show the total for the stay with every mandatory fee included, such as resort, cleaning or service fees, and state government taxes separately. The FTC’s fees rule requires this for short-term lodging in the US, and Canada’s Competition Act treats an unattainable advertised price as misleading, so every design displays totals.
How do I describe accessible rooms on my website?
Describe each accessible room type specifically: the bed size, the bathroom type such as a roll-in shower or tub with grab bars, communication features such as visual alarms, and the step-free route from the entrance. US rules for places of lodging ask for this detail in the reservations process, so it appears on the room page and in the booking step.
Can a B&B website take bookings without a big booking engine?
Yes. A small inn or B&B can use a simple availability calendar and booking form with deposits taken through a payment provider, then move to a full booking engine when it adds rooms or channels. Either way, the guest sees the total price and your house rules before paying, and each booking reaches you at once.
Can you build a hotel guest app or handle our SEO as well?
Yes. Use the same request form for a hotel website, a guest app, search optimisation, marketing or any mix of them. A guest app suits resorts and hotel groups with longer stays; most independent hotels and B&Bs get more from a fast website and SEO that puts their own site above the travel listings.
Will my hotel or B&B website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
Can I get one of these hotel website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for hotels and b&bs. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
