The short answer

What should a driving school website include?

A driving school website needs online booking for in-car lessons, a calendar of upcoming in-class or online course dates, and lesson packages with what each includes. It should show the school’s approval or licence number where the regulator expects it, name its licensed instructors, list pick-up areas, and send booking reminders only to students who agreed to receive them.

Built in

What every driving school website includes

  • In-car lesson booking from live calendars

Students choose an instructor and a time from real availability, with the pick-up address captured, a confirmation sent and a reminder the day before, and instructors see their day on their phone.

  • Course dates that sell the next class

Upcoming in-class and online cohorts in one calendar with format, dates and seats, updated by the office, so each class has a page that can rank and an enrol button that takes payment.

  • Packages with plain inclusions

Single lessons, bundles, full courses and road-test packages, each with what it includes, the cancellation terms and a price you set, sold online with a receipt and an optional payment plan.

  • Approval and licence details built in

Your ministry approval or DMV school licence number in the footer and on each course page, and every instructor shown with their instructor licence, so parents can check before paying.

  • Pages for each pick-up area and test centre

One page per area you serve and per road-test centre nearby, written from your real routes and coverage, so “driving lessons near” searches in each neighbourhood land on the right instructors.

  • A parent section for teen drivers

What the course covers, how in-car hours are scheduled around school, how completion is reported, and how parents pay, written for the adult who is usually the buyer.

  • Reminders students have agreed to

Lesson reminders and road-test tips by email or text, sent only to students who agreed, with the school named and an unsubscribe in every message.

  • Booking software kept, not replaced

If you already run lessons through a driving school scheduling platform, the site embeds or links its booking where the provider allows, so instructors keep one calendar.

Compliance

The rules for driving schools, handled in the design

Driving schools are approved and licensed by a ministry or DMV, and parents check those details before they hand over a teenager and a payment. These are the rules the designs are built around; each one links to its source.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer or your ministry or DMV licensing office has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • Ontario

    Approved beginner driver education

Ontario approves driving schools to deliver beginner driver education against ministry standards covering instruction, facilities, administration, audits and advertising. Course pages call the course ministry-approved only when the school is, and show its approval details.

  • Ontario

    BDE advertising standards

The ministry’s BDE curriculum standards include a section on commercial marketing and advertising, including that course materials must not carry advertising that detracts from the learning. Course and lesson pages keep promotions apart from course content, and your approval number goes wherever the standards ask for it.

  • Ontario

    Licensed instructors

Anyone teaching driving for pay in Ontario needs a driving instructor licence. Each instructor profile shows their name and licence status as the school records it, and nobody without one is presented as an instructor.

  • Ontario

    Class A training standards

Ontario requires Class A applicants to complete mandatory entry-level training with a provider that meets the provincial standard before the road test. Truck program pages name the standard each program meets and never suggest a route to the test that skips it.

  • US · state law

California: name, address or licence number in ads

California’s driving school rules require the school’s full name and its address of record, or its occupational licence number, in all advertising media. Each design carries the school name and licence number in the footer, and every location page its address; other states set their own rules through the DMV.

  • Canada

Consent for lesson texts and promotions

Under CASL, buying lessons can create implied consent to receive the school’s commercial messages for a limited period, while promotions to people who only enquired need consent on narrower terms. Booking forms ask separately for reminders and offers, and every message names the school and offers an unsubscribe.

Questions

Driving schools: common questions

How much does a driving school website cost?
A driving school website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
Can students book and pay for driving lessons online?
Yes. Students pick a package, pay securely, then choose lesson times from their instructor’s live calendar with the pick-up address captured. They get a confirmation and a reminder, can reschedule within your cancellation terms, and instructors see their day on a phone. If you already use scheduling software, the site connects to it where the provider allows.
How should a driving school show its MTO approval or DMV licence?
Site-wide in the footer and again beside each course, with the number exactly as your regulator issued it, and with each instructor shown with their own licence. In Ontario, call a course ministry-approved only while the school holds that approval. In California, advertising must carry the school’s name with its address or licence number; other states set their own rules.
Can the website list upcoming in-class course dates?
Yes. The office adds each in-class, online or holiday cohort once, with its format, dates and seats, and the calendar updates everywhere it appears. Each cohort can take enrolments and payment online, show a waitlist when it is full, and send joining instructions automatically, so classes fill without a run of phone calls.
Can we text students lesson reminders?
Yes, with their agreement. The booking form asks separately for lesson reminders and for offers, and each message names the school and includes an opt-out. In Canada CASL decides when consent is implied by a purchase and when it must be express; in the US text marketing has its own consent rules, so your lawyer confirms the wording.
Can we also ask for a booking app, SEO or marketing?
Yes. The request form takes any mix of a driving school website, a student or instructor booking app, SEO for each area you serve, and marketing to fill classes. Say how many instructors and offices you have and what booking tool you use now. For several offices or a franchise, book a demo and pick the multi-location option for a quote.
Will my driving school website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
Can I get one of these driving school website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for driving schools. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
