Websites for daycares and child care
Daycare website design that fills tours and keeps the waitlist fair
Websites for daycares and child care centres that parents trust at first glance: tour booking, a fair and transparent waitlist, your licence shown where families look for it, fees explained carefully, and a photo-consent setting behind every picture of a child.

- SEO plans from $149/month
The short answer
What should a daycare website include?
A daycare website needs tour booking, an online waitlist form with the centre’s waitlist policy beside it, and the program’s licence details. It should explain fees and any government fee reduction in plain words, describe each age room and the daily routine, publish children’s photos only with parental consent, and reach every parent quickly on a phone.

What every daycare website includes
Tour booking parents can do at night
Weekday tour slots, chosen online by the parent, with the child’s age and needed start date captured, a confirmation and a reminder, and the booking on the director’s calendar before morning.
A waitlist that explains itself
The waitlist form sits beside your written waitlist policy, takes no fee, and tells each family how the order is decided, with a way to check or update their place without phoning the centre.
Licence details where families look
Your licence and its number on the footer of every page and on each centre’s own page, with the program statement and parent handbook one click away for families who want to read them.
Fees stated carefully
A fees page you update yourself: base fees by age group, what is included, and how any government fee reduction applies, worded so it does not promise a family a rate they may not qualify for.
Room pages for each age group
Infant, toddler, preschool and school-age rooms, each with its routine, what to pack, how naps and meals work and how educators share the day with parents.
Photos with a consent switch
Every gallery picture and post is tied to a recorded parental consent; children without consent are never shown, faces can be blurred, and a parent’s withdrawal removes the picture.
Parent app links where you have one
Parents reach the daily-report or billing app you already pay for from a clear link in the menu; we connect to it where its provider permits, and children’s records never leave that system for the website.
Educator recruitment
A careers page with each open role, the qualifications it needs, and an application form, because staffing decides how many children a centre can take.
Compliance
The rules for daycares and child care, handled in the design
Child care is licensed, and families read a daycare website the way a licensing officer reads a file: fees, waitlist, licence, photos. These are the rules the designs are built around; each one links to its source.
Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your lawyer, licensing advisor or local service system manager has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

Waitlists: no fee, a written policy
O. Reg. 137/15 under the Child Care and Early Years Act bars licensees from charging a fee or deposit to put a child on a waitlist, and asks for a written waitlist policy that lets families find their position while keeping the list private. The waitlist form says it is free and links the policy.

Licences on display
The ministry’s licensing manual says licences must be posted in a conspicuous place at the centre, where parents can see them. The website is not the premises, but the designs repeat the licence on every page so families can check it before they visit.

CWELCC fees, stated carefully
Programs enrolled in the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care system must reduce base fees for eligible children under six to the level the province sets. Fees pages describe the reduction and who it applies to, and are updated by the centre whenever provincial rules change.

ADA Title III for child care
The Department of Justice says privately run child care centres, including small home-based ones, are public accommodations under ADA Title III and must not exclude children or parents with disabilities. Enrolment pages invite families to discuss support needs, and the site itself is built to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Meaningful consent for children’s photos
The Privacy Commissioner’s consent guidelines expect organizations to explain clearly what they collect and why, and say parents or guardians generally consent for young children. Photo consent is asked for separately from enrolment, in plain words, and can be withdrawn at any time.

Parent apps and children’s data
COPPA governs online services directed to children under 13. A daycare site speaks to parents, not children, but any portal holding children’s details follows the same discipline: a clear notice, a parent account, and a written retention policy of the kind the 2025 COPPA amendments require.

Apps
Most centres already use a child care management app for daily reports, attendance and billing, and replacing it is rarely worth it. A custom app makes sense for operators with several centres and a waitlist the off-the-shelf tools handle badly.

Questions
Daycares and child care: common questions
- How much does a daycare website cost?
- A daycare website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.
- Can parents join our daycare waitlist online?
- Yes. The waitlist form collects the child’s age, the start date and days needed, sits beside your written waitlist policy, and tells each family how offers are made. In Ontario a licensee may not charge a fee or deposit to add a child to a waitlist, so the form says joining is free. Entries go to your inbox or child care software.
- How should a daycare website explain CWELCC fees?
- Carefully. The fees page shows your base fees by age group, explains that eligible children in a CWELCC-enrolled program pay a reduced fee set under provincial rules, and avoids promising any family a particular amount. You update the page yourself whenever the province changes the rules, and the wording points parents to you to confirm their own fee.
- Where does our child care licence go on the website?
- In the footer of every page and on each centre’s own page, with the licence number and the licensing law it is issued under. Your program statement and parent handbook are linked from the same place. The licence posted at the centre is still the one the regulator inspects; the website simply lets families check before they visit.
- Can we post photos of the children?
- Only children whose parents have given written consent for the website, and every design is built around that. Photo consent is asked for separately from enrolment, each picture is tied to that consent, and a withdrawn consent removes the picture. Many centres show hands, artwork and rooms instead, which tells parents just as much.
- Can we ask for a parent app, SEO or marketing as well?
- Yes. One request form handles all four: a daycare website, a parent or waitlist app, local SEO, or marketing to fill spaces, alone or together. Mention how many centres you run and which daily-report software you use, and an advisor comes back with a plan that fits. Running several centres or a franchise? That is quoted separately: request a demo and select multi-location.
- Will my daycare website rank on Google?
- It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
- Can I get one of these daycare website designs?
- Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for daycares and child care. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
