The short answer

What should a plumber website include?

A plumber website needs a phone number a visitor can tap from any screen, clear signs of whether you answer emergencies now, online booking for routine jobs and a quote form that takes photos. It must show your licence number where your state or province expects it, and it needs a page for each service and town you genuinely cover.

Built in

What every plumber website includes

  • Tap-to-call everywhere, measured

The number sits in the header, in a sticky phone bar and beside every service, and each tap is counted, so you can see which pages and which ads make the phone ring, not just which get visits.

  • Emergency mode you switch on and off

When you are taking emergency calls the site says so at the top; when the crew is booked solid it switches to “book the next window”, so nobody is told you are coming when you are not.

  • Online booking with arrival windows

Routine jobs book themselves into the windows you offer, with a text confirmation and the plumber’s name, and arrive in your inbox or field-service software for the office to confirm.

  • Photo quotes for fixtures and renovations

Visitors attach photos of the tap, heater or pipe, so you can price a fixture swap or a bathroom rough-in before driving out, and the request reaches the right person straight away.

  • Licence, insurance and warranty, stated once

Your plumbing licence number, the master plumber who holds it, insurance and warranty terms are entered once and shown in the footer, on every service page and on every quote form.

  • Town pages that say something real

One page per town you genuinely cover, written from what you see there: the age of the housing stock, common pipe materials, local permit rules and the crew that covers it. No cloned pages.

Found locally

How plumbers get found in the areas they serve

Google runs the Business Profile and Local Services Ads programmes and decides who qualifies. We build the site and the area pages to Google’s rules and keep your profile accurate. Badges such as Google Verified (which replaced Google Guaranteed and Google Screened in 2025) are Google’s to grant, not ours.

  1. 01

    Google Business Profile

Primary category “Plumber”, services listed one by one, hours that match when you really answer, and no address shown if customers never visit you. The business name stays your real name, with no keywords added.

  2. 02

    Local Services Ads

Plumbing is a Local Services Ads category: Google checks your licence, insurance and background and may show its Google Verified badge, and you pay per lead. You apply to Google; the site gives those leads a page to land on.

  3. 03

    Town pages, not doorway pages

Google treats near-identical city pages as doorway abuse. Each town page needs its own substance, so we write it from your real jobs and local detail, or we do not publish it.

  4. 04

    Calls tracked, profile untouched

Tracking numbers on the site show which pages bring calls, while your main number stays the one on your Google profile and directories. Where every party must consent to recording, calls open with a notice.

Compliance

The rules for plumbers, handled in the design

Licence numbers, cancellation rights, financing wording and call-recording notices are built into every template, so the site is not patched after launch. Each rule links to the board or regulator that sets it.

Sources gathered October 1, 2026. This is how our designs handle these rules, not legal advice: rules change and differ by province and state, so your state plumbing board, provincial regulator or lawyer has the final word, and you approve every page before it goes live.

  • California · Florida

    Licence number in every advertisement

California requires a contractor’s licence number in all advertising, websites included (Business and Professions Code 7030.5), and Florida requires the certificate or registration number in every advertisement in any medium (F.S. 489.119). The footer and every quote form carry it.

CSLB — Advertising guidelines for contractors

  • Texas

A responsible master plumber behind the ads

Texas plumbing rules say a company may not advertise or offer plumbing work without a responsible master plumber, whose name and licence number go on service vehicles. The site names the responsible master plumber and their licence number in the footer.

Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners — consumer information

  • Ontario

    No door-to-door water heater contracts

Since 2018 Ontario businesses may not sign contracts for water heaters, water treatment devices and similar equipment in a consumer’s home unless the consumer asked them to come, and direct agreements carry a 10-day cooling-off period. Water heater pages invite the customer to call or book; nothing implies canvassing.

Ontario — Door-to-door sales and home service contracts

  • US

Three days to cancel a sale made at home

The FTC’s Cooling-Off Rule gives a buyer three business days to cancel most sales of 25 dollars or more made at their home, with a written notice of that right. Booked jobs confirm by email with your cancellation terms, and the quote page says how cancellation works.

FTC — Cooling-off period for sales made at home or other locations

  • US

    Financing ads and trigger terms

A monthly payment, a number of payments or a down payment in a financing ad triggers fuller credit disclosures under Regulation Z, including the APR. The financing panels say terms are given in writing by the lender, and show no example payment unless every required term is beside it.

    US — Regulation Z, 12 CFR 1026.24 (eCFR)

  • California

    Recording calls needs everyone’s consent

California’s Penal Code 632 makes recording a confidential call without the consent of all parties an offence, and several other states follow the all-party rule. Tracked calls open with a short recording notice, and recording can be switched off.

Questions

Plumbers: common questions

How much does a plumber website cost?
A plumbing website of up to 25 pages is $1,500 paid upfront, or $150 a month for 12 months, and it is yours after the 12th payment. A larger site of up to about 100 pages is $4,000, or $400 a month. Hosting and care is $29 or $49 a month. Prices are in US dollars.Call tracking numbers and Local Services Ads are billed by their providers, not by us.
Can customers book a plumber online from the website?
Yes. Routine jobs book into the arrival windows you choose, with a text confirmation, and each booking reaches your inbox or field-service software for the office to confirm. Emergencies are steered to the phone instead, because a burst pipe needs a person, not a form.
Where should my plumbing licence number go on my website?
In the footer of every page, on quote and booking forms, and beside the plumber who holds it. California and Florida require the licence number in all advertising, websites included, and Texas ties plumbing advertising to a responsible master plumber. You enter it once and every page uses it.
Do I need a separate page for every town I serve?
Only for towns you genuinely cover, and only with real local content: the housing stock, common pipe problems, permit rules and who covers it. Google treats near-identical city pages as doorway pages, so we write each one from your jobs there or leave it out.
Is Local Services Ads the same as having a website?
No. Local Services Ads is Google’s pay-per-lead programme: Google screens your licence, insurance and background and may show its Google Verified badge. You apply to Google directly. Your website is where the rest of your searchers land, and the page those leads check before they call.Google retired the Google Guaranteed and Google Screened badges in 2025 in favour of Google Verified; we never show a Google badge you have not been granted.
Will my plumber website rank on Google?
It launches with the technical SEO done: fast pages, clean structure, structured data, local pages and redirects from your old site. To keep climbing, a BOOSTD SEO plan from $149 a month runs 262 checks on your site every week, fixes what is safe to fix and gets the rest ready for your OK.No one can promise a position on Google, and we never do. Google warns businesses about anyone who does.
How long does a plumber website take to build?
About 4 weeks for a local site and about 8 weeks for a larger one, counted from the day we have your content, logo, photos and licence details. A larger site is planned with an advisor first, so its timeline is confirmed in writing before any work starts.Call tracking and booking connect in the final week, once you approve the site.
Can I get one of these plumbing website designs?
Yes. Each is a complete, ready-to-launch website design BOOSTD made for plumbers. Pick one and we make it yours, with your name, colours, photos, content and the licence or compliance details your industry expects, from $150 a month and yours after 12 payments.Approved client sites are shown with a “Client work” tag, and only with the client’s written permission.
